Warri Wolves head coach, Paul Aigbogun, has singled out Gbolahan Salami for praise following his performance against Dolphins on Wednesday.
The Warri club defeated Dolphins 3-1 in a Glo Premier League match and the Nigerian international, Salami, scored twice in the contest.
The former 3SC and Sunshine Stars striker scored from the spot in the 27th minute while Ike ThankGod made it two for Wolves before Emem Eduok halved the lead of the Warri club.
Salami netted his second and Wolves’ third with 10 minutes to full time to secure the full points for his team.
Aigbogun believes Salami has been turning up for Wolves in recent matches with eye-catching performances.
“He has been doing well for quite some time now and is an integral part of the team. We are happy with his input which has helped the team,” said Aigbogun after Wednesday’s match.
Dolphins head coach, Stanley Eguma, however, believes that his team’s poor focus “gifted Salami the goals.”
“Loss of concentration at the back cost us the game. We just gifted Salami the goals. We will have to go back and rectify the problem,” Eguma said.
Salami has scored 13 league goals for Wolves, thereby accounting for 45 per cent of the Warri club’s total goals so far this season.
