Wolves, Sunshine In Title Showdown, Enyimba Face Heartland Test

By Adeboye Amosu:

Title rivals Warri Wolves and Sunshine Stars will set the tone for what is expected to be another exciting weekend of top class football  action in the Glo Premier League when they clash at the Warri City Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts sit in t the hird position, one point adrift of the visitors who occupy the second position on the log.
A win for either side will see them close the gap on leaders Enyimba who face Oriental neighbours, Heartland, on Sunday in Owerri.
The home side’s preparations for this game have been marred by the  players’ protest over seven months  unpaid salaries.
Leaders Enyimba know they must avoid defeat when they confront Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium to maintain their title push.
The Peoples Elephant who won the reverse fixture 2-0 in Aba  look good to get a positive result from this game considering their  impressive away record.
Fourth-placed Wikki Tourists will look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing loss to Enyimba when they entertain Taraba United at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
Abdu Maikaba’s men should have little problem picking maximum points against their relegation threatened opponents who are yet to receive their salaries for 13 months now.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars will be keen to improve their position on the log with another win against Bayelsa United who have managed just two  wins in the second stanza of the campaign.
Sharks will take their relegation fight to Katsina where they will be up against El-Kanemi Warriors, while their Garden City rivals, Dolphins, will host FC IfeanyiUbah at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Abia Warriors and Rangers will clash in the weekend’s other Oriental derby. Ladan Bosso’s charges need a win to boost their hopes of securing a continental ticket, while Rangers have nothing but pride to play for.
The Ilorin Township Stadium will host the clash between strugglers Kwara United and Akwa United.
The hosts occupy the 18th position on the log, while the Promise Keepers who enjoy a five-point advantage over the Harmony Boys are 15th.
Giwa and Kano Pillars will do battle at the Rwang Pam Stadium. Nasarawa United will tackle Lobi Stars at the Lafia Township Stadium.
