Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent a congratulatory message to Carl Ikeme, who made his debut for the Super Eagles against Tanzania on Saturday.
Ikeme, who played because Vincent Enyeama was unavailable, made some brilliant saves in the game to help the Eagles avoid defeat.
Reacting to his performance, Wolverhampton took to twitter to express their delight following Ikeme’s impressive display in goal for the Eagles.
“Congrats to Carl Ikeme who has marked his international debut for Super Eagles with an impressive performance and clean sheet versus Tanzania,” the Championship club wrote.
Meanwhile, the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Blackburn Rovers midfielder, Hope Akpan, also took to Twitter to praise Ikeme for his brilliant debut.
Troost-Ekong, who featured in the game against Tanzania, described Ikeme’s display as solid.
“Congrats to Carl Ikeme on his debut, solid!” Troost-Ekong wrote.
Akpan wrote: “Carl Ikeme, congrats on the Super Eagles debut!”
