Wolves Upbeat On Currie Recovery

Warrington coach Steve Price says Ben Currie’s rehab from a serious knee injury is progressing well and hopes to see him back in 2019. The 24-year-old only made his return to action at the start of this season after missing the majority of the previous campaign due to an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

However, in April the England international suffered a recurrence of the injury in the Challenge Cup clash with Bradford Bulls, ruling him out for the rest of 2018.

Currie was forced to undergo reconstructive surgery for a second time but is on course to be fit for the start of next season, having begun running again three weeks ago.

Price believes the rehab is going much better this time around and has been impressed by the attitude of the centre as he slowly makes his way down the long road back to action for Wolves.

“Bennie Currie is doing so well,” he told the Warrington Guardian. “He’s a lot more advanced this time around than with his previous injury. He’s working extremely hard to get a lot of strength.

“He’s in a really good place and it’s good to see him out there again.”
