Switzerland and Romania played out a 1-1 draw in Wednesday's European Championship Group A clash at the Parc De Princes in Paris.

Bogdan Stancu put Romania ahead from the penalty spot on 18 minutes against the run of play after Stephan Lichtsteiner fouled Alexandru Chipchiu in the 18-yard box.

In the 57th minute, Admir Mehmedi equalised for Switzerland, lashing on to a lose ball off a corner-kick.

New Arsenal signing Granit Xhaka was in fine form, controlling the midfield for Switzerland.

Unsurprisingly,  the Switzerland No.10 was voted man of the match.

The draw takes Switzerland to four points and top of the group temporarily.

On their part, Romania earned their first point of the tournament and go third on the standing.
