Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is confident his club Leicester City will have a good season despite their Premier League opening day defeat to Arsenal on Friday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Leicester, who won the EPL title in 2015/2016 in one of the biggest football surprises ever, led Arsenal twice at the Emirates on Friday but ultimately lost 4-3.
Jamie Vardy bagged a brace for Leicester but strikes from new Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and a late Olivier Giroud winner led the Gunners to their first opening day win in three seasons.
"Great fight yesterday, not the result but confidence gained for the next one… yes we can!," Ndidi, who played the full game on Friday, tweeted on Saturday.
Ndidi's compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho, who joined Leicester last week, came on as a late substitute while Ahmed Musa was left out of Craig Shakespeare's squad.
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute for Arsenal.Copyright © 2022 Completesports.com All rights reserved. The information contained in Completesports.com may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed without the prior written authority of Completesports.com.
