Yul Edochie, Onwochei: Chelsea Must Not Sack Mourinho

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Nigerian movie stars Yul Edochie and Francis Onwochei believe Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will save the sinking ship and finish the season in good stead.

The Blues are languishing in the 15th position in the Barclays Premier League and there are rumours doing the rounds that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic could terminate the Mourinho's contract if they lose their Barclays Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday.

Edochie and Onwochei who are die-hard Chelsea fans spoke exclusively with Completesportsnigeria.com on the subject.

Award-winning Nollywood star Yul, the last child of legendary actor and former broadcaster, Pete Edochie, said Abramovic letting Mourinho go will be ill-advised.

"I think it'll be an irrational move from Abramovic to sack Mourinho. He won the Premier League last season. He has recorded success with Chelsea and at other big clubs in the past," Edochie told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Mourinho is a world class coach. I still feel he's the best man for the job. He just needs time and encouragement to fix the team's problems.

"One bad season doesn't mean he's incompetent."

Similarly Onwochei, who was the lead actor in the 1998 hit, Raging Storm, also spoke in glowing terms of the Portuguese manager.

"I will be at Stamford Bridge to see the match. I have been very concerned about the dwindling fortunes of Chelsea and confidence is low across board, not only with fans and players but perhaps with Jose Mourinho and the owner," Onwwchei (pictured) told Completesportsnigeria.com from London on Friday.

But hopefully JM (Jose Mourinho) will not be sacked…If he is sacked, it may spell more doom for club and the owner."

Onwochei added that although he hopes the Chelsea board do not sack the former Porto, Inter and Real Madrid coach, he however admires one of the coaches reportedly being eyed to become the next Chelsea manager.

"I have started to admire the consistent zeal in the Atletic Madrid, Diego Simeone, to take over from Mourinho but the club still needs him," Onwochei added.
