Yusuf: Eagles Can Qualify For World Cup From “Toughest” Group

By Adeboye Amosu:

Super Eagles caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf says the team must be positive on their chances of making it to the 2018 World Cup despite being drawn in a tough qualifying group, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The three-time African champions are drawn in Group B with perennial rivals, Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria. Only one of the teams will qualify for the World Cup.

Salisu also  admitted that only hard work and determination can see the Eagles make it to the finals.
"It's certainly the toughest of the five groups, but we must be positive and believe we can make it to Russia," the former Kano Pillars and Enyimba coach told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Cameroon and Algeria have a lot of quality players in their team and they will be difficult to come up against.
"You can't also underrate the Zambian team even though they don't rank in the same level as Cameroon and Algeria.

"But we also have to recognise the fact that we have good players in our team and we must be ready to give our all.
"You don't expect any easy game at this level and we must work hard to ensure we scale through at the end of the day."

The formula for qualification is just simple. Against Algeria, Zambia, go physical, a bruising battle will overwhelm these two. For Cameroun, finess will do, those guys eat akpu like Nigerians, sleek, nifty moves will undo them. Up Naija.
