Super Eagles Assistant coach Salisu Yusuf has expressed the optimism that home based Eagles will do well at the forth coming CHAN cup in Rwanda.
Yusuf told Complete Sports that the boys were geared towards improving on the third place finish during the last championship in South Africa, adding that the Eagles have what it takes to vie for the title.
He said that all the players have reported to camp after the Christmas break and have been working hard to ensure that they make the final cut for the competition billed for mid January.
"As you can see, we are ready to go and with little luck and God on our side, we have what it takes to return with the trophy," Yusuf, a former Elkanemi coach said.
He disclosed that Gbolahan Dada has withdrawn from the CHAN bound Super Eagles to pursue a career abroad, stressing that he can't stop him from following his heart.
"Gbolahan sent me a text message that he is going on trial with a club in Europe and I wished him well. He is the only player who did not return to camp after the Christmas break," Yusuf stated.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will travel out to Pretoria, South Africa for a close camping and acclamatization before jetting to Kigali, Rwanda for the championship.
