Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Yusuf has hinted that there will be more that six home-based players in the squad in the future if the players adhere strictly to the philosophy of the new technical crew.
Yusuf disclosed that the six Glo Premier League players picked for this weekend’s fixture against Tanzania will compete favourably well with their foreign-based colleagues for spots in the team.
“The boys responded well to the training methods and there are more that will break in soon, ” Yusuf told completesportsnigeria.com in Abuja.
“The league is improving and that has helped the players as well.
“Hopefully more than six will make the squad for subsquent games.”
Salisu is the only surviving member of the technical crew headed former coach Stephen Keshi.
