The Chipolopolo of Zambia will set up a training base in Ghana ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles in Uyo on October 7.
This was announced by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) on their verified Facebook page on Thursday.
It was earlier reported that the team would open camp in Europe as part of preparation for the big clash.
But according to FAZ, the home-based players who had been called to camp earlier will leave for Ghana on Sunday and set up base in Accra where the foreign-based players will join them.
And on Wednesday October 4, the team will head to Nigeria ahead of Saturday’s showdown which will be staged at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
Also, it was revealed that Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda is expected to announce his final team on Friday at a media briefing.
The Super Eagles top Group B on 10 points after four games, while Zambia are second on seven points from the same number of games.
Cameroon and Algeria who have both been eliminated from the qualifiers have three and one points and are third and fourth respectively.
A win for the Eagles will seal qualification to the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a game to spare.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
