  • Strong Squad.

Somebody tell me Why is Gernot Rohr Including Ahmed Musa ahead of Henry Onyekuru

  • Joseph Omale 4 years ago

He is the coach. He knows who is fit for all the positions.

  • i believe onyekuru’s time will come..lets qualify 1st…Rohr will rather stick to those he trsuts for now to get the job done

  • So you think Hamed Musa who is not playing or fit can also make the job done????? Somebody should answer me ooooow.

  • phadah 4 years ago

let him just get d job done first ,as for Musa,he still plays well for d eagles we never he z called apart from d last time sha,buh we shouldn’t leave him out yet, even if onyekuru comes he may not even play set kuz players boooku! buh still remember d case of miroslav klose n Lucas podolski for Germany? maybe musah z our own podolski

Ahmed Musa’s case is a cause for concern, he’s not playing for his team either,& if invitation is based on current form, what is his?.
The whole thing is purely technical, so all the best!.Please Rohr should stop these wide-mouthed chipolopolo boys & their press by beating them silly

  • charles emeka okwu 4 years ago

Onyekuru’s time will definently come. He is a young kid with immerse footballing talent but it seem he is yet to convince rohr that he is ready to be apart of the team. Rohr has been able to monitor him from close quarters and him not getting a call up after the togo and corsica friendly signifies he is yet to win the gaffers heart. Musa in his on part is an integral part of the super eagles and one of the most experienced heads around the team. His club fortunes this season have not been impressive but you dont just discard an experienced player like him when he can still contribute enough to the team. He is not a starter in rohr’s team currently but has the qualities to overturn the outcome of a match as a super sub.

  • Onyeagoro Johnson Chima 4 years ago

He has his own reason and judgement of the on coming game. I think he knows what we does not know. This may also be a tactical approach to the game.

With the team rohr is building i forsee the super eagles doing very well in russia 2018. The abundance of talent(european born nigerians inclusive) made building a team a much more easier for the german coach. So far his team selection have been very commendable judging by the past experiences we had with or previous coaches few years ago. Rohr is a coach who identifies what he wants in a player and he doesnt hesistate to drop one who doesnt suit his style of play. What really made me a huge fan of his is his ability to cope with the instability of our football house the nff, unpaid salaries and his avoidance of having any broadcasted issue with the techinical commitee who deem theirselves as very powerful when it comes to players selection. He even travel to europe often to scout and meet promising european born nigerians who will fit in and form the future of the team. Getting the likes of aina, ebuehi and noah sarenren bazee his a development that will not pay off now but later in the future. I also commend the nff boss amaju pinnick who has from day one supported the german in his move to get players abroad. Tammy abraham is on the horizon and by God’s will will be a super eagle soonest. Joshua torunarigha who was and have been impressive for german modest side hertha berlin have been also approached by rohr but the kid is yet to give the request a consideration( the lure of playing at the fifa world cup will attract him if the team eventually beat zambia on sunday). Another player who should approached asap is wolfburg’s ohis felix udokhai. He is highly rated in germany and have been an ever present figure in the defence of wolfburg this season.

Also the coach and his scouting team should start searching for a successor to the team’s skipper john obi mikel. Grooming a young talent who will take over from the skipper should be taken serious amd that should be maybe after the qualifiers in novemeber. The likes of kelechi nwakali who is on loan to eredivisie new comers vv venlo from arsenal, lillestrom’s ifeanyi mathew who have been very impressive in the norwagian league and tipped for a big move next summer, english born joshua onomah who is on loan to aston villa from tottenham and have been impressive as well and liverpool’s ovie ejaria.

Mikel played only two matches in 3 months before the Zambian game. We all saw his contribution that day. Daniel Amokakachi was not even getting close to Everton’s bench under Joe Royle before Atlanta 96. He got a place in the Dream Team as an over-aged player and turned out to be a menace to opposing team’s defence. One can not blame some players for being benched by their coaches. Some coaches just don’t like certain players no matter how good they are. Remember Moses under Mourinho, Lukaku under Mourinho, Pogba under Fergusson, Eto under Gourdiola, Iheanacho under Gourdiola. The list is on and on. That’s exactly what Musa is experiencing under Shakespeare. It has nothing to do with his quality. He distinguished himself in few cup games he has played. Immediately Musa stepped into the field against Algeria, the Nigerian attack took a new devastating form. Onyekuru is still a learner as far as the SE is concerned. We need the pace, experience and maturity of Musa on Nigeria’s bench; not Onyekuru’s naivity even though he’s good and playing for his team in Belgium. Let the coach do his job.

    • wisest response my brother…..u are spot on! God bless you

  • Tgrace 4 years ago

Umh! Love all Nigerian fans here good comment, wise words. For Ahmed Musa, if u can all recall that after his divorce and remarry his carrier has being somehow fading low not away, but come to say if it is true that his coach bench him bacuse he is not liked then why is he being benched again in the Eagles team. Wise up man and rise your game we still love and want you in the Eagles team cause we still remember you goal against Argentina in the last world cup and so do we still want you to do again if Argentina qualify for the next world cup cause Nigeria is going to meet Argentina not in the group stage this time around but in the quater finals and we are going to win Argentina and it is Argentina 1 v 3 Nigeria. Wait and see if Argentina qualify

  • Im surprise that no body has mentioned echiejile(the weak point of our first 11)…we are having only one sure point man in ighalo others operate from the wings…so call Musa, the two moses, even iwobi…except iheanacho who is still struggling lately. Yet u people still want onyekuru when we need cyriel Dessers.

  • Vitalis 4 years ago

We now have too many players, the problem is who will be selected.meeehn I love this

  • Tel me guys this cyriel Dessers is . good now why rohr is not calling him?

    • PapaFem 4 years ago

@Gaby, Dressers will surely make the team. But this WCQ is not a test game. We are in for real business here. If we make it after this round, something I’m fervently praying for, players like Dressers, Onyekuru, Tyrone, Success, Nwakaeme, Ogu, Agbo, and other fringe players Rohr had wanted to use would get their chance.

      • Fasasi Kunle 4 years ago

@Papafem I like the way you explain things. We have to exercise patient that is the why we are having coach. After qualification Rohr will be relieved then serious business would start. Nigeria is having a lot of young players now, l must tell you we are bless with players. By God grace we would win this match.

  • God blessed nigeria with talent’long life nigerians players long life our coach long life fans long life the whole nigerians,by his grace we re from nowere to somewere.

  • someone will cry on the 7th. Zambians don’t play football by mouth but on the pitch.who is Mikel,Musa,Moses, iwobi? these guys will disappoint you.stop talking and wait for the 7 the.

  • philips u are not OK which of ur player is capable of standing with dose guys who have play alone great player,u don’t even have respect u mention victor moses Almighty moses,d two dribble winger moses vs moses,u are fool u people dat realized with inexperience player how will u compare ur zeeco united or zanaco player to this star player, or dose playing for south Africa lig,I pity ur life even our under20 player we defeat u people, I dnt see any good player or world class player in ur squad, I rest my case I love my Country 4_0 to Zambia

  • @seun, which one is your own. This guy @Philip just said his feeling and he is supporting Zambia. Maybe he is a Zambian and you do not expect him to say Eagles will beat Chipolopolo just as you will not say Chipolopolo will beat Nigeria. Ok, tell me why is it called entertainment? It is the fun!! Enjoy it and stop abusing people on this page. Challenge this Philip guy and give your reason why you feel he is wrong to say copper bullet will shoot down the Eagles. My prediction is Eagles 6-0 Copper bullet. It is my opinion and anyone from Zambia is free to challenge it. But do not abuse.
