Zambia Suffer Setback As Club Paperwork Knocks Star Midfielder Out Of Eagles Game

By Kayode Ogundare in Accra:

Chipolopolo of Zambia’s preparations for the all-important win-or-bust game against Nigeria on October 7th suffered a setback with the inability of Sweden-based Edward Chilufya to join the team.

Chilufya, who’d been expected to storm the Ghana training camp of the Zambians latest by Tuesday afternoon sent word, according to Team Manager Chris Chibuye, that he would no longer available for the game in Uyo next Saturday.

This was because his work permit paperwork was not yet finalised after signing a contract on turning 18 years.

Zenith Ziva

Mwepu, who played both legs of the double victory over Algeria was expected to be one of the key figures in Coach Wedson Nyirenda’s new look Chipolopolo side aiming to reach a first ever World Cup.

His absence is another blow to a team that has seen the withdrawal through injuries of stalwarts like Brian Mwila and Emmanuel Banda.

  • Irrespective of what happen to Zambia squad,it’s not going to be an excuse for their defeat in Nigeria because S.Eagles is far above chipolopolo

That is not news to Nigerians! We’ll beat any eleven men they field at Uyo. End of discussion..

I have never seen a team trailing behind on points and playing away, having lose the first game at home with the same opponent they are meeting, boasting of beating them as many as 4 to nil. The Zambians are quite noise makers. If they have improved since their last defeat at home, does it mean their opponent – Super Eagles have depreciated in standard? They should talk less, so they don’t make themselves empty cans, at the end the result doesn’t favor them. Anyway, empty vessels make the greatest noise, as that will be their case on Saturday. Nigeria is not Algeria, they should take note

Mr (or Mrs) CM, didn’t you read the comment immediately before your own? Why do you Zambians think your team has improved and the Nigerian team has not? Tell your people to talk less and wait for the d day. If you beat us, it will be no big news because we beat you first, and our coach and players have not been making noise. But if we beat you again, with the whole noise they are making, they can’t find their way back to Zambia. The shame will be unbearable.

Which Victor are you? Moses, I hope or maybe just another hallucinating flightless eagles supporter. Yes, Eagles won but that was matchday 1, hello! wake up. It’s like one year ago. This is matchday 5 what don’t you understand? Time moves on obviously not out there because you are still living in the past and that will be your downfall. The name of your opponents is the bogey team with new faces, hungry to win, nothing to lose but a lot to give to their fanbase and they are not coming to Uyo to handover eagles an easy qualification passage at this stage but they will be taking that away from you. It won’t matter if eagles don’t go to the world cup anyway because from like 10 appearances or is it 5 times sorry maybe giving too much credit. Second round exit is what we expect so we thought maybe it is better we just go instead and change the African record because your Eagles have been a letdown. So come this Saturday, they are letting you down again because the bogey team will be breaking your hearts. Ask the Algerians.

The resurgence of the zambian team is making their fans believe they are the best team in the world. Beating a dispirited and disgruntled algerian team who’s greatest undoing was to underate your team is no landmark. Where were you guys when we came to your backyard and left with 3 points? I must admit the zambian team have improved a whole lot with the infusion of few u17 and u20 players but have it in mind that this is no age grade football lol. Also the super eagles team that won in zambia is far weaker than the one you are to meet in uyo. Algeria boasted and got massacred, cameroon did the same and got humiliated and zambia is following the same trend, well lets wait till saturday.

We have been to the world cup 5 times and got to the 2nd round 3 occasions, Isnt that commendable and fair enough? Its in record that have met great footballing nations in world football and emerged victorious. When it comes to achievements sporting wise, there is no way you guys can measure up with us. Your only hope of watching you darling team in a fifa world cup maybe be the nxt edition because of its expansion to over 40 teams. 3 afcon trophies,5 fifa world cup appearance, one olympic soccer gold(a bronze and silver inclusive),5 u17 world cup trophies, 2 u20 silver medals just to mention a few. In world football there is no way you guys can measure with us.

If country should argue with Nigeria like this it should be Ghana, Cameroon and Egypt even not country like cote d’voire Senegal, Mali and burkinafaso would say Nigeria is nothing in football. Zambians fans lack respect. The other time they came to Ghana for world cup qualifier 2014 they boasted they would beat Ghana in Kumasi but they loose. Arrogant Zambian will fall on Saturday. Up super eagles!!!!!!
