Zambia’s Mbesuma Optimistic Of Victory Vs Nigeria

Zambia forward Collins Mbesuma is looking forward to another win at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday with the Chipolopolo when they host the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Sunday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Mbesuma, 32, one of the most experienced strikers in Wedson Nyirenda’s squad, has scored four times for his Absa Premiership side Highlanders Park this season, making history as the first Zambian player to score 100 goals in the South African league.

“It’s just God, it’s God first and hard work, there is no charm involved. We look ahead to Sunday (against Nigeria) with so much optimism,” Mbesuma told the Zambia Post.

“God is not done with me, this is just the beginning. I am yet to reach my best.”

Mbesuma who has also played for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Golden Arrows, Moroka Swallows, Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces is the first ever player to win the PSL golden boot twice, following his record 35 goals for Chiefs in the 2004/2005 season and 14 goals with Black Aces last season.
