Zimbabwe have confirmed the appointment of former India opener Lalchand Rajput as their new permanent head coach. Zimbabwe Cricket announced the news on Twitter that the interim head coach had been given the job full-time, describing the former batsman as “a respected and successful coach reputed for his passion, hard work and intimate knowledge of the game”.
Rajput, who has been handed a three-year deal that is renewable yearly, had been named interim boss in May for the T20 tri-series against Pakistan and Australia and says he’s looking forward to the future.
“I am happy and excited over the appointment and look forward to the challenges ahead. I am thankful to Zimbabwe Cricket for recognising my coaching abilities and giving me a three-year term, but renewable yearly,” Rajput told PTI.
Rajput was in charge of Afghanistan in 2016 and has also held a coaching role previously in domestic Indian cricket with Assam. How To Migrate To Canada Without IELTS - A must read for anyone looking for a better life abroad"....
