Manchester United recorded their third straight win in the English Premier League this season with a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, reportsCompletesportsnigeria.com.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored in both halves to hand the Red Devils their eight win of the season. Jose Mourinho's men moved up level on points with fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who face Burnley at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The win also extends Manchester United's unbeaten run to eight games since their last defeat away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The 35 year old Swede headed in a inch perfect cross from Jess Lingard in the fifth minute as Manchester United totally dominated the first half.

West Brom almost restored parity when Jonas Olsson flicked a Chris Brunt corner just wide of the far post.

United came close in making it 2-0 through Wayne Rooney's half-volley which was tipped onto the underside of the crossbar by Ben Foster.

Lingard also squandered a golden opportunity to double the lead before half time but he lashed a volley high over the crossbar to the dismay of his coach on the sideline.

In the second half, Ibrahimovic grabbed his brace in the 56th minute when flicked the ball past two West Brom defenders before firing low into the net via a slight deflection.

The goal took Ibrahimovic's goal tally to ten in nine games.

Next up for Manchester United is a home fixture against Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
