A frustrated Neil Warnock has urged striker Kenneth Zohore to fulfil his potential and “steamroller” the Premier League. Zohore has been with the Bluebirds since January 2015 but has scored just 23 goals from 88 appearances in all competitions.
Injury has thwarted his progress this season, with the 24-year-old enjoying just three Premier League starts, while he is yet to find the net.
With Cardiff set for a season-long battle against relegation, Warnock needs all the help he can get to score the goals and has urged Zohore to fight his way back into contention. “He is pain free for the first time and has done some work with the rehab guys,” he said. “I said to him yesterday ‘you have to set your stall out, really son,’ I know Paterson (Callum Paterson) is doing well. “But he is the made-to-measure striker we are going to need. He has to really push himself to try and get back in the team.”
The 70-year-old tactician is clearly a big fan of the former Denmark Under-21 ace but is unsure if he will show the world exactly what he is capable of doing. “He should steamroller this league, that is my frustration,” added Warnock. “I don’t know if he ever will. I have no idea.”
