De Kock Century Puts SA On Course For Win

South Africa are on course to seal a series whitewash after Quinton de Kock’s century left Pakistan needing 381 to win the third Test.

The 26-year-old’s 129, his fourth Test ton, helped the Proteas to a second innings total of 303 in the afternoon session on day three of the Test match in Johannesburg on Sunday.

And, having been set a sizeable target for the win to avoid a 3-0 series defeat, Pakistan made a solid start with opening batsmen Imam-ul-Haq and Shan Masood making 35 and 37 respectively before being removed by Dale Steyn who took 2-37.

Duanne Olivier continued his impressive form in the series with the wicket of Azhar Ali for just 15 as the tourists reached stumps at 153-3, still 228 runs short of their target.

South Africa will now be hopeful of taking the remaining seven Pakistan wickets to seal the win on Monday.
