‘Osimhen Works Hard In Everything He Does’ – Napoli Coach Spalletti

Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti has praised Victor Osimhen’s work ethic after netting a brace in Thursday’s 4-0 win against Sampdoria.

The Partenopei maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season with a fifth win out of five, dominating at Marassi through Osimhen’s brace and a goal each from Fabian Ruiz and Piotr Zielinski.

It was Osimhen’s third goal in the league and has now scored five goals in his last three games in all competitions.

“We are happy with Osimhen because he works so hard in everything he does,” Spalletti told DAZN.

Despite the comfortable win, Spalletti insist Sampdoria caused his side lots of problem.

“It was a good result, but Sampdoria caused us problems in the first half. Where we deserve credit is for hanging in there, resisting the pressure and then finishing our chances well.

“Ospina did really well in goal during the first half, as Sampdoria pounced on us from the start, but that left huge gaps behind their defence, and in those situations Osimhen is devastating.

“When the game isn’t going well, you have to try to get something from the individuals and that’s what we did.”

Napoli are top of the table with a perfect record after five rounds and Spalletti acknowledges the expectations are rising.

“We are just a football team, we enjoy the extraordinary affection that this city has towards the club colours. We must keep working calmly, because the average for a Champions League place is 80-85 points, which means we are missing 72 points.

“Looking at it from that perspective, there’s a long way to go and many other teams can get back into it.”

  • In football it is usually difficult to get a tall lanky striker with such frightening pace like osimhen….. osimhen is deceptively quick and also good with his feet……No team will dare attack you carelessly if you have osimhen in your team because a counter attack will be devastating for that team to handle……. this was what played out last night……Sampdoria where ready to play and attack Napoli but that left alot of spaces for osimhen to explore behind them…… Osimhen has never had such space to run into since he moved to the SerieA…..The guy was having a happy day yesterday using his pace to torment the slow Sampdoria defence…… Osimhen and his playing quality will be crucial to Napoli this season as everything is clicking and other teams are getting desperate to attack them to stop their amazing run, thereby creating a paradise for osimhen to play his style of football….. let’s see if a brilliant coach in Italy will device a method to neutralize Napoli’s early season brilliance.

Not only getting a champions league slot be optimistic and work hard as a team to win the Seria A league

I see Osimhen repeating the feat George Weah did in AC Milan in 1995
    Win Seria A top scorer
    Win Seria A league
    Win Europa
Win nation cup with Nigeria next year
    Africa’s best player award
    Europe best player award
    BBC best player award
    World best player
Only if the Napoli’s Insigne and others in the team will continue to utilize his potential upfront and feed him with balls.
I wish you injury free season. Osibaba is a goal.
You will conquer racism in Italy and the entire Europe.
    Baba God de your back.

We call God to maintain him from injries and infections, he is a pride for Nigeria ,he might have to develop him self in a tight spaces and also to put a ball in right position when he confronts the rival’s goalkeepers…
