Newhope Naija FC produced a commanding performance in the 1XCup 2026, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Daja United at the Inspire Sports Ground, Cappa, Oshodi, Lagos in their Epe Zone encounter on Friday.
The result underlined Newhope Naija’s attacking quality as they overwhelmed Daja United with five goals, turning the contest into a one-sided affair.
Akpos Igoli opened the floodgates of goals for Newhope Naija with the forward finding the back of the net as early as the fourth minute.
Akintunde Samuel extended Newhope Naija’s advantage over Daja United with the forward making it 2-0 in the 15th minute.

Isaac Arabiadiama Ruben joined in the goal-scoring act as the defender netted in the 29th minute to help Daja United race into a 3-0 lead before half time.
Daja United managed to find the net once with their goal arriving in the 34th minute through John David Kelechi but Newhope Naija remained firmly in control and finished the game with a convincing four-goal advantage as they scored twice more.
Newhope Naija’s fourth goal of the game came courtesy of Samuel in the 36th minute with the forward getting a brace while Abdulleetef Bamidele netted the fifth for his side in the 42nd minute.
The victory gives Newhope Naija FC a strong boost in their 1XCup campaign and further highlights their ambitions in the Epe Zone.
Newhope Naija had earlier edged Luther Inter FC 1-0, with Moshood Idris scoring the decisive goal in the 17th minute.
