2021 AFCON Qualifiers: Play Me In My Preferred Position – Iwobi Tells Rohr

Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi has called on coach Gernot Rohr to use him in his preferred position ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

Iwobi, who has become a constant player in the senior national team has been used by Rohr from different positions during competitive games.

On Tuesday, he was named in the 24-man list released by the German tactician that will face the Squirrels of Benin on March 27 and Crocodile of Lesotho on March 30.

Nigeria are to Group L on eight points while Benin sit second on seven points with both teams set for a make or mar clash to determine the group leader.

However, Iwobi via his official twitter handle, stated that he would be delighted to be used in his preferred position.

“Always an honour to get a call up to my National Team. Hopefully I get to play in my preferred position,”he said.

Alex the beans-loving playmaker, which one you dey? You should be ready to play anywhere, just as you are with your club.
Anyway, just make sure you’re full of beans for our next two matches ooo.
Check out Alex the great in full beans mode against Southampton recently –

Perhaps the new nickname IWOBEANS is a better fit 🙂 🙂 🙂

That statement by Alexander the great Iwobi was in essence referring to Ancelloti and not Rohr. He was kinda echoing the fact that his good performance with the SE is as a result of Rohr playing him in his preferred position as against being constantly played out of position at Everton. PLEASE YOU GUYS AT CSN SHOULD STOP THIS ACT OF MISLEADING VUNERABLE READERS.

No disrespect but this Augustine Akhilomen will kill complete sports.
Unarguably one of the most unintelligent and laziest authors this great sports media giant has ever had, when he is not misinterpreting twitter posts, he is busy regurgitating debates on the comments forum like someone writing a review paper. Guys just keep watching out for articles written by him, trust me you’ll want to puke. He should go learn from the likes of Solace Chukwu and Tunde Fayiga. Those ones will write articles and you will be praying while still reading, that the article should not end.

The context of ‘preferred position’ Iwobi was talking of was from the Everton context and not the SE context. How this English hard a whole journalist to understand beats imagination. Iwobi plays his BEST FOOTBALL in the colors of the SE and you see him enjoying himself on the pitch when he plays for Nigeria. That no 10 position he plays for the SE can never be said not to be his preferred position.
