Former Nigeria defender, Christian Chukwu has urged Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to select fit players for the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin in Porto-Novo.
The three-time AFCON champions are top of Group L on eight points, while Benin sit second on seven points with both teams set to clash on March 27 in a crucial encounter that could decide the fate of the two West African nations.
In a chat with Guardian, the 1980 AFCON winner stated that Rohr has the players to beat and pick the maximum point against the Squirrel of Benin.
“I don’t think there is anything to fear ahead of the AFCON qualifier against the Benin Republic.
“Nigeria has players that can beat Benin, and all that is needed is for Rohr to pick with the right set of players for the game.
“Because the Eagles will be playing against a West African team, who are tough on the ball, Rohr should pick fit players for the tie.”

U DON’T NEED TO INTERVENE ON SUPER EAGLE MATTER AT ALL BECAUSE DURING YOUR TIME AS EAGLES COACH.U USED SENTIMENT IN SELECTING PLAYERS.
FOR EXAMPLE: U bench
1. AYILA/OBODO for OLOFINJANA
2. MARTINS for AIYEGBENI
3. OSAZE for LAWAL
LASTLY, U ARE TOO OVER RELIANCE ON ONE CENTRAL MIDFIELDER(OKOCHA) (If I lie, Nigeria remembered when Okocha make a statement that “he need rest after he passed through an hectic season with Bolton wanderer)
Of course nothing to worry about Mr.Christian Chukwu.Players invited are regular players for their teams so I’m sure anyone selected should be good to go so no qualms!
