2021 AFCON: Super Eagles Plan Friendly Against Cameroonian Club Cotonsport

The Super Eagles are set to take on Cameroonian club Cotonsport Garoua in a friendly ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, reports Completesports.com.

Cotonsport’s director of communications Saliou Amadou revealed to Cameroon sports publication Sportsglitz that the club have received a proposal from the Nigeria Football Federation for a warm-up game.

It is however still uncertain if the club will accept the proposal given their tight schedule.

Cotonsport is based in the North Region of Cameroon where the Super Eagles are programmed to play their three group matches and possibly the Round of 16 encounter if they go beyond the group stage.

Super Eagles interim head coach Austin Eguavoen has said that despite the short build-up to the AFCON, he hopes his team will play a couple of test games before their opening group game against Egypt on January 11.

Before Brazil won the world cup in 1994, they played a friendly game against a Spanish clubside before the world cup proper. Those teams are harder to beat than national teams because of team Chemistry and cohesion. I am not a fan of Eguavoen but a super Eagle well wisher. He doesn’t have the winning temperament of a SIASIA or an Amunike

My sentiments exactly…but we’ll see, the same way everyone wrote off Keshi before South Africa 2013 might just be playing out a second time!

    • If eagles can beat cottonsport dey wil get to the final of afcon.

Iwobi will start our games he’s the best passer of the ball in the super eagles

  • They can play Ethiopia who has arrived already in Cameroun for example.

NFF disorganization is worst than coaching or player.

Next thing Amaju will say the players had the best feeding and accommodation as if the players were homeless before.
