2022 WCQ: Ndidi, Iwobi, Chukwueze Return From Injury Big Boost For Eagles- Rohr

Gernot Rohr says the return of Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi and Zaidu Sanusi, is a huge boost ahead of Saturday’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Liberia in Tangier, Morocco.

The quartet missed the Eagles’ double header with Central African Republic due to injury.

And Rohr, also expressing delight that assistant coach Salisu Yusuf is back, said he is confident the players return will help the Eagles overcome their West African counterparts.

“We are happy with the return of Yusuf Salisu my assistant and the injured players who couldn’t come for the last matches,” the German coach said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday published on NFF TV.

“Ndidi is here, Iwobi is here, Chukwueze and Sanusi are back so I think we have the squad that can go for the victory.”

On the team’s training so far, Rohr described it as wonderful.

“We had a good beginning of the camping. We started early, most of the players arrived Monday night so we started training session on Tuesday morning. It went well, good training conditions the weather is wonderful.“

And on the return of Odion Ighalo:“Ighalo wanted to stop after the 2019 AFCON, he changed his club and wanted to spend time with his family but now the motivation is here for him to comeback and help us.

“We have a very young team, we have Musa with his experience but we need another one with his experience, professionalism which can help the young players.“

Apart from something extra, coach Rohr just provided his squard with a cause greater than themselves, the cause to deliver. Our concern now is how eagles will deliver.

    • I think I see where you are coming from,Francis Eluba. Very good coach. Coach Gernot Rohr just taught them how to play for each other not themselves. Leggo Eagles!!!

Hmmmm! Iwobi, Ndidi……The way Rohr is going though not reading his mind, he might end up with 533 formation. Guys, what are your thoughts bearing in mind that the time is nigh.

  • I will switch my TV if I don’t see Chukwueze — Osimhen — Ejuke upfront. Attack your opponents from 0-90 mins. Pls Daddy Rohr

The most overhyped National team in Africa, prove me wrong super Eagles. See what Mali, Algeria and Morocco are doing to this African Small teams.

Congo Democratic and Mali are not making excuses. They are dismantling teams in their groups home and away scoring three, four goals.
Rather than deploying technical and tactical means to win matches Dumbo Roar will be roaring about players..
There will be nowhere to hide at ANC.!

Rohr? 533 formation? Hahahaha! Coach Rohr is home with 5123. Quite sincerely, I’m in support of 533. Let’s see!

“We have a very young team, we have Musa with his experience but we need another one with his experience, professionalism which can help the young players.“

Experience of Musa in the is not enough?

Experience of Ndidi in the midfield and Etobo not enough?

Experience of Balogun and Omeruo not enough to keep our defense solid?

Now that Ighalo eventually arrived into the Super Eagles camp, I hope you won’t give excuses no more?

It is not about using Ighalo to win on Saturday or to qualify to the world but it is all about have a team, how to know the usefulness of every player in the team is what we are demanding from NFF.

If the gaffer can’t be boasting of his young strikers without Ighalo then he is a failure period.

I hope he won’t bring back Mikel too.

Victor Moses said no to Oga Rohr and his employer. That is what I call a class.

Oga Rohr and Mr. Salisu Yusuf have no class that is why we having them in the Super Eagles including Mr. Agu.

Fingers crossed. Good luck Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!

That’s why I like white people, they always think deeply, after all Germany still keep senior striker Molla but Mosese is very ok to come back.

If only voices are heard….Super Eagles have a very young vibrant and exclusive team capable of taking any team…my heart worries is that does he know his players and what role there are gud at best,..sef his tactics is what I am not understanding…

  • You need not to understand sir, since it’s not your work. Mr Gernot Rohr is already taking care of that
