2022 WCQ Playoffs: Toro Wants Super Eagles To Go For Victory In Ghana

Former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro has charged the Super Eagles to go for outright victory in the first leg of their World Cup qualifying match against Ghana in Kumasi on March 25, completesports.com report.

The Bauchi born administrator said Coach Austin Eguavoen and his team must brace up for the game of their lives in the first leg adding the outcome in Ghana will go a long in determining the eventual team that will qualify for the world cup in Qatar.

“Eguavoen must take charge of his team by taking responsibility for every decision that will get us the ticket to Qatar World Cup later this year. He has to try and beat Ghana in their home to make the second leg in Abuja mere formality.

“I think we have the players that are capable of beating the Black Stars of Ghana over the two legged game but the coaches must remove sentiment in their selection and must be apt in their game plan. Eguavoen knows Nigerians will not forgive him if we fail to make it to Qatar, so he must use players ready to give their best for Nigeria.

“Ghana will as usual give the qualifiers their best shot because it is Nigeria and Eguavoen knows it, so he and his technical crew must put in their best to get over the Black Stars. A draw in Ghana is not a guarantee that we will beat them in Abuja, that is why we must go all out for victory in the first leg” the former House of Representative member stressed.

Asked if the list of players invited for the games against Ghana was decent, Alhaji Toro urged those kicking against some inclusions and exclusions to put that behind and rally round the team to victory.

“Eguavoen is the coach and he takes responsibility of success and failures of the Super Eagles. He picked his team and we must respect his judgement,” said Toro whose tenure as secretary general has been described as the golden era of Nigeria Football.

For victory over the Black Stars, coach Eguavoen must alter the list that went to Cameroon, this is a World cup ticket for crying out loud. At least a 40% change should be effected since he has capable players at his disposal tight now
    Up up S.E!!!

Nigeria should not be surprised, it won’t be an easy match, they should be careful from VAR, it’s not only playing football, but about mind games, Ghanaians will do anything to win. Let’s be careful.

The bottom line of what the Former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Toro said is, we should all think Nigeria first. That is the only way to eschew sentiments. Good Super Eagles, God bless Nigeria.

Eguaveon can’t win the match with 4-3-3 he must be willing to sacrifice some players, adopting 433 against the Ghana wouid be disastrous, they will control the midfield if will play 433, they’ve better midfielders. We need mobile ball winners in the midfield for us to win.

You are very right. We had a terrible midfield in the recent Afcon. The red card in the game against Tunisia came from the midfield and even the goal that the fans accused Okoye for, it was becos Ndidi couldn’t clear his line. Let’s just allow the coach to pick his team after all, we have less than 10 days.

  • Ghana is a weak team!! We will destroy them in Ghana and Some Ghanaians that have infiltrated CSN will be nor more on this Platform Watch. They will mysteriously disappear like they never existed.

Bet ur life savings on this and we ll believe u!! WE WILL TAKER U THE UNIVERSITY OF LOCAL derby for eguaveon to learn

The match between Juventus and Villarreal should be a lesson for us . If Ghana stays cool and wait till they gather momentum they might beat us . We need to stay cautious and not be too offensive otherwise Ghana will just try to soak the pressure and score when least expect
