Good Ozowanfor has no business here, he needs to go and develop just like his junior colleagues and earn more club senior caps before inviting him. Alloy Agu you need to sit up and give at least one new goal keeper a chance to fight all this your yeye keepers from time to time, until we fight a reliable world class keeper in the frame of Vincent Enyeama and Carl ikeme. I wish the team good luck as a Nigerian I don talk my own and welcome Calvin Bassey!

    • Fidelis 2 years ago

@Samuels Spot on I also feel sad for Sanusi who was rated second best Porto player, at their champions league match by skysport snubbed for a little dip in form. Meanwhile Musa who’s been goaless for ages and match rusty, keeps getting invited over and over again even after he was bullied last match by the Cape Verdes.

      • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Sanusi is going through a rough time like everyone, with some press targeting him and lately he also started making costly errors, let him be strong and fight back. For now I want to see if this Albino coach, will have the guts to start a very decent Calvin Bassey or bench him for 80mins and no further invitations like he did to Markus Abraham.

        • KangA 2 years ago

Hey lad, watch your tongue (or fingers). Why the rude name-calling of a whole national coach?

You’ve gone down in history as a rude “fan” of the SE. I have seen several people disagree with Oga Rohr, but never have I seen anyone attack him. In any case I don’t think you know the meaning of “Albino” otherwise you won’t mock him for that. Is he responsible for his genetic make-up? ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR GENETIC MAKE UP? DON’T EXPOSE YOUR IGNORANCE HERE. Even if he were an Albino, what’s wrong with skin pigmentation?

The last warning, watch your tongue.

          • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Idiot come beat me na. I don talk I call am albino come flog me. See your mouth kanga abi wetin them dey call you.

        • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

@ E Samuels, it is bad to abuse the coach. Don’t behave like Anumanu.

        • KangA 2 years ago

You’re a bushman. Crawl back to your cave bastard. See the foolish man who thinks living in Ghana is an achievement. From your broken English, we can all deduce the miserable live you are living. Look at his moroon whose brain has been clogged by cheap alcohol coming out to attack decent people. You can’t escape it; lowlife. And you seem determined to pass your horrible traits to your offspring. You don’t belong to the civilized world. Fool.

          • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

KingA leave story a beg. Have you been to Ghana? Can you obtain Ghana Visa?

      • Jones 2 years ago

Bro Fidelis, I don’t think you watched the Porto v Liverpool match……if you did you will know that the whole porto team was thrash against Liverpool…the fact Zaidu Sanusi was rated 2nd best porto player doesn’t mean he played well….he played crap like the rest of his Porto teammates, only Taremi was above average(because he scored of course) If Zaidu had played well why was he the first player the Porto coach removed? You people dont watch games…you just read articles and rush here to embarrass yourselves.

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

Ozonwafor was invited due to the crisis we had with the British authorities placing Cape Verde on their red list.We hadn’t a few of our regulars for our second game and Akpoguma down with illness hence the invitation of Ozonwafor a good young defender who did well against Cameroon in our last friendly internationals, well he isn’t gonna start anyway, only there as a backup besides he makes the match day squad for Galatasaray.

      • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Ozowanfor is not ready for this challenge, he almost overworked Awaziem the last time out.Why is Rohr scared to use Anthony Izuchukwu, check his highlight he is too good to ignore. What is the problem with Rohr on this particular player? Why did he invite him if he won’t use him? I remember what happened with Ebere Eze now he’s back to English plan. Good players don’t hide I don’t want us to loose this one too.

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

Ndidi and Etebo would be missed both are highly experienced members of the team and what they bring to the team is invaluable. However,an opportunity for the team to integrate new players the likes of Onyeka should play his first official games I’m not really convinced about Bonke but the gaffer who sees from close range must be pleased with his performance against Cape Verde hence the call up.
A shame Kingsley Michael is out injured,I would rather go for a Kingsley Michael over a Bonke.Another disappointing invitee is Ahmed Musa.On merit Emmanuel Dennis should get the nod over Musa or the young Hammarby winger Akinkumi Amoo.
Otherwise the list is spot on.

    • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Bonke is a solid player at Malmo great tackler and scores from long range, he will prove himself soon. I am looking to see Anthony Izuchukwu fight for a place in the team he is just too good and we might loose him to another country if we continue to joke or delay.

    • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

And spot on with Amoo I’m surprised you took note of him. You get eye here!

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Like play like play Musa will make the team to the Nation’s cup but I don’t see him making the WC squad(If we qualify) except there is a dramatic change in his form. I’ve been following his games at his new club and you can see that he has been benched lately or plays few minutes towards the end.. As much as I like Rohr and appreciate what he has done since he took over this team, I will say he displays some naivety in team selection but home he keeps churning out these results…

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

***** Correction —- He did play a full game last weekend against sivasspor but was not impressive in their 4-0 Loss where Kayode scored.

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

Onyekuru who happens to be a much more better and faster player was ignored. So eventually a very good and younger player will be ignored for Musa when the nations cup final list is out a shame indeed!

        • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Akinkumi Amoo is more productive than Onyekuru. When was the last time he score a goal? Suggest better players!

          • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

So the only productive contribution of a winger is goalscoring? Onyekuru plays at a better club, did well to put the Cape verdians on a backpedal in the last match, and is younger and also faster. Ok what about Dennis? And there is some silence about lookman because they know who will have to make way for him if his switch is aired publicly…

        • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

The difference was obvious when Onyekuru came in. This is just some weird shit. Only in Nigeria, even Ramos with all his achievements for the Spanish team was dropped for the Euro and he still plays at a too club.

          • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Akinkumi is a very solid left footed player, playing from the right wing with great dribbling ability and unstoppable when in the groove, he is in a beast mood, check his games of late and see Messi like movements plus his last goal is just Amazing. If you doubt check the goal and his general play.

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

The long awaited invitation of Glasgow Rangers Calvin finally is here!We need more invitations like this players on fire! There should be no room for players like Ahmed Musa who are not firing it lacks all fairness.A hundred caps must be earned every count of it must be merited otherwise it looses its value. The Nff should stop the history of helping players to fraudulently earn a 100 caps to the detriment of the team, this practice can only happen in Nigeria pathetic!

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Yobo got his that way too lol. Only Enyeama would have got more in a legite way if not for African Guardiola that was fighting everyone..

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

And where does that take our football? This trend should be stopped it’s very annoying!

      • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

        Hahaha Sunday Oliseh!

  • GLORY 2 years ago

Honestly speaking, Musa himself has to show humility and if at all, ask to be a non playing member of team. He has done marvelously well for Nigeria and we appreciate him. But forcing himself on the handlers, is setting out a wrong example for others to follow by this selfish action. HE IS JUST FAR BELOW THE PACE N CHARACTER OF THIS PRESENT SE TEAM.

  • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

Ahmed Musa is a world class player. He deserves to be involved.
    Anumanu.

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

He used to but hasn’t done anything impressive in his last 4 games except you want to lie to yourself. Listen we all have the best interest of the national team at heart and not just castigating for no reason.

  • What is your problem with this Musa of a thing. This guy is still playing active football for God sake and he is a Nigerian. Everytime the gaffer release list there will be one complain or the other as some are crying over Sanusi exclusion forgetting that they are d one who request for Bassey inclusion. Definitely this must affect someone they may even say he shouldn’t have been the one that should be dropped mtcheeeew

    • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

Well said @Tayo. Ozornwafor and Kelechi Nwakali should be invited.

      • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

People like you are examples of the problem Nigeria has….. we will never be true to ourselves. You can’t tell me Musa is the one of the top 3 wingers we have right now. Using past achievements as a yardstick for his inclusion is flat out wrong. Remember when Musa came into the team he had to displace someone who wasn’t performing well too.

    • GLORY 2 years ago

@ Tayo, left to Rohr, Musa would have been dropped long time. He Rohr is being bullied into inviting Musa by those so called oga dem. Maybe this might help. Reason Musa should have done the honourable n retire from national team football.

      https://www.brila.net/i-imposed-ahmed-musa-on-gernot-rohr-amaju-pinnick/

      • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Wow this is just unprofessional. I hope it won’t come back to haunt him cuz his words are forever embedded online…. and what kind of precedence are you laying down by imposing a player on a coach and using the 2 goals scored in Russia to ignore current form. Things will never be right in this country for a long time to come.

        • GLORY 2 years ago

Broda there are lot more we hear and know through close allies around the team. Rohr is a very honest man as far as I know but we all know what doing the right thing is like in Nigeria is like, unless we are pretenders/blind. It’s even a miracle/sheer determination that Rohr has been able to maintain some above water level sanity in the team.

      • Jones 2 years ago

@Glory I mentioned this earlier after our game with Cape Verde and I was trolled, the Rohr I know wont continue giving out invitations to Musa..he’s obviously being forced to…Musa is obviously the weak link in the team atm

        • GLORY 2 years ago

@ Jones, it’s just shame broda. Sometimes wgen people criticize Rohr on issues as this, I m asking myself, is it that these lots got no balls to attack the real enemies of our football or could it be they are here on this forum working for these same enemies?. Because this attitude of forcing players on national team coaches has always been the norm albeit really really sick.

          • Ako AMADI 2 years ago

The huge discussion on who should be invited or not shows that Nigeria is spoilt by its wealth of footballers

  • BASSEY I see you……Good additiona and more competition in that position……Nice list generally.

    • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

Is Bassey better than Ebuehi? Let us reason with care. Ebuehi plays in the scudetto.

  • This is a very good list, Bassey finally invited, i hope he gets a chance to play, the only name i am not happy with Onyekuru not making the list, or is he injured? overall good list i must say. Oga Rohr well done Sir.

    • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

It is a poor list. Ebuehi should be there. He is more qualitythan Bassey.

      What of the following players
Ozornwafor, Nwakali, iwuala, Akpom, Izuchukwu and Marcus Abraham? Wayo too dey happens for Nigeria

  • Who u go remove for this list and put? ozornwafor abi iwuala

  • Larry 2 years ago

Why are people crying over Onyekwuru exclusion. The lad is one of the luckiest SE players. Dumped by Everton and Monaco. O goal and O assist for SE.
The list is not that bad except for two or three players.
The GK dept is the weakest spot..
9 defenders and just 2 central attackers!!
Onuachu and Osimhen are two different strikers, one would expect Belmadi’s boy to include at least an additional striker on the list.

    • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Don’t worry you can go and buy the Algerian jersey and bandwagon with them at the AFCON that’s your own cup of tea Belmadi ass licker. Belmadi who inherited a team that reached its peak at the AFCON. A team which the spine had been created by Vahid Halilhodzic way back in 2013. Eliminated in the group stage at the AFCON in 2013, qualified them for the WorldCup in 2014 and took them to round of 16. Since then majority of the team were knocked out by Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals in 2015 and eliminated in the group stage in 2017 before he came in at their peak in 2019 for them to finally win the AFCON.

The likes of Slimani, Feghouli, Mandi, Guediora, Brahimi, M’bolhi including Mahrez and others have played about 3 to 4 major tournaments with Algeria before finally peaking in 2019 to win. An ageing team that couldn’t beat Burkina Faso playing their home games next door to them in Marrakech Morocco. Watch out how they will be played in Cameroon. The only team I can respect from the north in Cameroon that may peak at the AFCON is Morocco. But I can guarantee you that this SuperEagles will be battle ready to face them all in Cameroon starting with Egypt. Only Musa and Omeruo remain from our own AFCON winning squad in 2013 which means Rohr on his part has created a new SuperEagles where everyone can now be dropping endless names Lmao!!

I hope someone hasn’t hacked your account to say a Rohr’s team list is not bad Lmao!!!

      • Tancosports 2 years ago

Thanks so much oga AY for this brilliant analysis. It’s been long I comment on this forum but I’m totally moved by your submission about this Algerian team.

Belamadi didn’t build any team for Algerian national team, he inherited this same team from two to three different coaches, I personally don’t see anything special about that man and his technical inputs. Burkina faso really exposed them in that last game.
Afcon 2021 is around the corner and we shall see how far they will go but one thing I’m.very sure is that they can’t beat Super eagles again and the only team I fear going to the tournament is Senegal, they have collection of Best individual players on the continent Right now follow by Morocco and of course our Darling super eagles!

        • Greenturf 2 years ago

If Belmadi inherited a non performing team from different coaches and turned their fortunes around, don’t you think he deserves the credit for their recent form and achievements?

      • Larry 2 years ago

Your statement is substantially contradictory. No need to waste space and energy writing an epistle responding to a rigid mind. Here is the logic, if Belmadi inherits a team that was defeated by your world class coach and use the same team to defeat Mr.technically bereft Roar twice. That tells much about the degradation in Roar’s technical capacity or the superiority of Belmadi’s tactics
The next Nation’s cup will decide how far your world class coach has improved.

        • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Hahahahaha! They scored a 94th minute individual goal to eliminate a team that had failed to qualify for the AFCON back to back in the semifinals and the other is in an inconsequential friendly while we beat them to the WorldCup ticket in Rohr’s first year in charge of the SuperEagles when everyone including your miserable lunatic self never gave him a chance to secure the WorldCup ticket ahead of Algeria and Cameroon in the first place. You will see how they will struggle in Cameroon. We will all be here to witness it. A team that was built by Vahid in 2013 and could only reach their peak in 2019. An ageing team that couldn’t beat Burkina Faso next door to them. Let them come across the SuperEagles in Cameroon that’s if they can make it that far to face us. How can you ever measure up with me in terms of football encyclopedia?? Den born you well? It’s better you don’t waste your time because I will expose you like I’ve always done. Like I said you can go and buy Mahrez and Slimani Jerseys and be licking Belmadi’s ass with your fellow miserable regressives.

  • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Nice to have Bassey in the team at last. A genuinely young talented left back who can make that position his for a decade to come. A very good development for additional competition on that side of defense. It’s quite laughable that Aigbogun didn’t consider him for the U20 WorldCup in 2019 despite directly contacting him and he saw him play for Leicester U23 then because of a certain Ikouwem Utin or what not?? Only two years on Utin is wandering around Europe while Bassey has progressed to be a mainstay at Glasgow Rangers. A powerhouse in Scotland. I really don’t understand how our home grown players are managed.

Overall a very good list to be able to beat CAR home and away. It’s more like two home games for the SuperEagles as the return leg in one of the AFCON stadiums in Douala will be filled with mostly SuperEagles fans for those allowed. In another sad news Etebo is said to be out for 4 to 5 months with a muscle injury. Sad he won’t make the AFCON squad if the report is anything to go by. I hope Ndidi’s injury is not serious o?? We can get an adequate replacement for Etebo, but Ndidi is irreplaceable according to Brendan Rodgers. Anyway I want to see Onyeka combine well with Aribo and Iwobi or Bonke in the midfield to see what he can offer in a competitive atmosphere. Good luck to the SuperEagles and the coaching crew. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE# VAMOS ARIBBA SUPEREAGLESSSSS!!!!!!

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

Three players are in place to take the place of Ndidi for the games against CAR.
So it’s one of Frank Onyeka,Innocent Bonke and Abdullahi Shehu though listed as a defender but will function as a midfielder.
Frank Onyeka may get the nod to start over Bonke who won his first cap against the Cape Verde away. But I would go for a midfield combination of Abdullahi Shehu and Aribo. Then Iwobi to operate from the right just like he did beautifully against Liberia and Simon Moses or Samuel Kalu on the left but with the form of Moses Simon in Europe I think he would get the nod to start.
Kelechi Iheanacho to play behind Osimhen.
We expect Collins to start after a strong showing in our first couple of games the right back will be a strong contention between Akpoguma and Aina. The oyibo wall once again to continue there combo with Okoye in-between the sticks.
      Full line up.

      Okoye

      Aina,Collins,Ekong,Balogun.

      Shehu,Aribo.

      Iwobi,Iheanacho,Simon.

      Osimhen.

      • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

I think it will be Onyeka and Aribo with Iwobi on their side. Rohr might prefer Akpoguma to Aina because currently Kevin has played more minutes than Aina in the top 5 leagues so far this season. The rest should keep their spots.

        • Greenturf 2 years ago

More like how Rohr like to play you right.
I know he would start Onyeka but I’m a fan of Abdullahi Shehu when he’s in the midfield.
I saw him first in Chan 2014 in South Africa tutored by late Stephen Keshi he was solid he also had a great game against Liberia away bringing calm to a struggling midfield. Its a shame he plays in Cyprus and not getting played in his natural midfield position when on national duty.

          • I also like him (Shehu) when played in the midfield. He brings calmness calmness in the midfield. When he was brought in the second half against Brazil, he didn’t look out of place. He brought calmness in the midfield. I don’t like Rohr playing Akpoguma at Right back. I prefer Aina or Awaziem in that position because both players maintain possession in the game. They also push forward.

          • Greenturf 2 years ago

@Ewerem George you are a good analyst.A lot of Nigerians turn a blind eye to Shehu’s prowess in the midfield just because he plays in Cyprus otherwise he would be in the lips of every football fan.
In the absence of Ndidi in all fairness Abdullahi Shehu should occupy that position. He maintains possession,he has natural flair and marks intelligently,he plays that position like a maestro that’s why he was able to dictate the tempo of games
I think Nigerians judge him from his performances as a right back,so one good game in a one off midfield deployment won’t change their perception of him a shame indeed.
Rohr don’t like ball playing defensive midfielders, that was why Azubuike Okechukwu never had a look in when he was very active in Europe and Abdullahi would sit on the bench for a Onyeka though plays in the EPL but not a passing midfielder.Rohr likes grit, power and would trade that for flair, this is the reason we struggle with top teams, because if you can’t boss the midfield you have a little chance of winning a top side but his football philosophy sees it differently that’s why a non skillful player like Bonke who plays with power only impressed him

  • whenI see Musa’s Name on the sheet I know this coach is not strong enough to take us to the promise land. @Glory thank you for the link , it is something we all had an inclination about, However I use the word Strong headed because in the Link Pinnick said ” He (Rohr) later agreed” meaning he was not strong enough to stick to his word and is easily swayed. The Coach and I repeat the Coach that will take us to the promise land is one that can stand up to the cronies that run our ball.

Again I will repeat Rohr is not special he just has special players. There are players on the fringes that need to be tested who are not Emma Dennis should have been tested instead of Musa. Rohr is is not serious.

    • GLORY 2 years ago

@ Ugo, please when we are on a topics, we should try to be very realistic in our opinion. This is why @ Drey always wins my support; ever so real in his views. @ Ugo, you sound as if you never lived in or worked in Nigeria. Listen broda, two things happens to coaches that choose to be really stubborn to the so called big oga dem. Either they get sacked or they get frustrated to the point, where they then decide to quit. Even with Pinnick making that comment, I won’t crucify him because I understand he is only answering the call of his own boss( political egg heads), most probably someone with some powerful influence on the president. All in an attempt to get funds for the national team. More like using Musa to make the north/presidency happy. With this understanding, it will be difficult to even blame Pinnick talkless of Rohr. THIS IS SHAMEFULLY, THE NIGERIAN WAY. IF YOU DONT KNOW, PLS KNOW NOW AND SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS. AHMED MUSA IS THE ONE TO TELL EVERYONE HIS TIME IS UP, TO MAKE IT EASY FOR ROHR, PINNICK N OTHERS.

      • Don’t always agree with your points on certain topics, but this right here is BANG-ON. Hitting the nail right on the head. No roundabout explanation. Nah Musa go tell Rohr say he no wan play again, then Rohr will be free to replace him. We are in a bad place in our political history as a nation where the presidency is unapologetically ethnocentric and Pinnick has to play ball from those who installed him and order Rohr the same. That’s the reality.

Rohr, in effect, has become a political coach too. Yes, I agree SE player invitation is on merit, but I disagree it’s 100% like in the days of Westerhof. Keshi too was guilty too at a time – but for business reasons, not political.

        • GLORY 2 years ago

@ Kel. I totally agree with you and also we should not be breaking our heads when others see things differently. I have learnt to just laugh it off when such don’t sit well. Our understanding can never be the same all the time. If we are being honest with ourselves, we should be really thankful to God for having a very very tolerant manager like Gernot Rohr. His good work is becoming very evident in the good number of talented players now available for SE selection.

          • @Kel it is something I have been singing so I wasn’t suprised when @Glory shared that link. The only sad thing is that these So called corrupt oga dem ezigbo oga dem. Always start stretching thier evil muscles come World Cup why?? Well you guessed it to advertise their own irrespective of if its at the cost to the Country success, which is not suprising just take a look at this Jungle called Naija and you have the answer to the question.. only God will Judge these people hence if you remembee my Anthem “Nigeria always shoots herself in the foot”

Once again thanks for the list. You also have to ask yourself that the same @Dr Drey will break his neck in defence of Musa. And argue to the endz of time that he is invited on merit and is more a legend than our true Legends Okocha and Kanu and Co. But you take his word seriously even after you have seen this link. Okay oo

        • JimmyBall 2 years ago

@GLORY, @Kel and @Ugo… kudos for tha above comments! Now these comments from you guys just made my day about MUSA AHMED. Everyone knows that Ahmed Musa even to the next three years can still play decently for Nigeria… the longest serving players in SE history have all played upwards of ten (10) years… MUSA started around 2010/2011… he is still a good player but as of today, getting invites at a time he was not so active were all political high-handedness in this day and age where Nigeria have abundant foreign pros in all ball positions… just take Kayode Olanrewaju, Anthony Nwakaeme, Emmanuel Dennis (now),Chidera Ejuke(before forcing himself on Rohr recently with convincing display) and even Junior Ajayi of a few seasons back with Al-Ahly… all these mentioned players have at one time or the other been ignored despite hitting commendable consistent forms… I mean Peter Olayinka consistent for two season upto the outgone season with his performnaces in CZECH league and Europe… yet one like Musa whether weather good for am or not… him dey like igneous rock untop list… everytime… Lol. A lot of people know there are absurd politics with our football regarding regional representation for federal character and it is for sure shutting out good players but they will rather like to discuss other things like how Agege bread is sweat and delicious with Butter… Ejaria dey available now and someone like the enterprising Kingsley Michael is not in this squad… I would not know if he injured though… that guy clear my doubt with his game-maturity against Cape Verde!

    • Ugo you are wasting time with this musa issue. If we qualify for the world cup miss will go to the world cup. Musa’s role in the team off field can’t be quantified. Coaches need players in the team who has so much off field influence in the team. Keshi did that with yobo in 2013, he won the afcon. Westerhof did that with keshi 1994 he won the afcon and qualified for work cup. So why do we want to kill ourselves over musa in the team. The coach knows his worth in the team, he won’t keep him out unless he is injured. The buck stops at the coach’s table

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

You mean Nigerian coaches only? Because coaches from other parts of the world don’t reserve a place for out of form captain.A captain should lead by example, you should be an active member of the team but when you feel you can’t do the same for the team no more, you retire honourably that’s what a true patriot should do!

  • Ako AMADI 2 years ago

Nigeria is spoilt for choice in football hence the endless posts over squad selection.

  • Tyrone Ebuehi
    Emma Dennis
    Marcus Abraham
    Obinna Nwobodo
    Kingsley Michael

No space for such precocious talents?

Even with Ndidi and Etebo out? Na wa o. I wonder who’ll make way on this list when Chukwueze returns.

Musa still? I love him though but there’s something called the law of diminishing returns. That’s a precious slot being constantly occupied. Hmmmm…

Same set of goalkeepers? Alloy Agu is working hard. He’s doing well. We never had it so good in 5 years. Lol.

When an expatriate has been initiated into the Nigerian style of politics in business and sports, it’s easy to tell. Dernarby left cos he won’t play that kind of ball.

  • Ako AMADI 2 years ago

Is Musa a non-playing captain? His invitation cannot be justified in football terms. Sadly Rohr is playing Nigerian politics

  • Oakfield 2 years ago

Nice list. Wish u all the best, mr rohr and your wonderful team. It can only get better with our support and encouragement like papilo rightly said. And for the useless bastard monkey jumping aroumd here since morning @chima samuels, i really wonder who let you off your leash. Last time i checked on you, u were hiding in one of your dirty holes licking your miserable smelly wounds and had to be leashed to prevent u from causing further nuisance and disgrace to your generation. Sorry ass idiot like u. If rohr is an albino then u must be retched looking sudanese who claims to be a nigerian causing a nuisance here. Ewu gambia.

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

You are no better insulting a person by saying he looks like a Sudanese, buddy is wrong for calling Rohr an Albino but you are equally wrong to insinuate that the Sudanese look a certain way. That is just wrong. You can insult him in a different way but don’t insult the Image of a certain demographic. The Sudanese people are humans just like you.

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

But the Sudanese are amazing beautiful people.

      • Oakfield 2 years ago

@footballfanatic, Go and sit down my friend! Who are u to judge me?? Just mind your lane. I no wan open your own chapter for you. Nonsense.

        • Peter Opotoboruwe 2 years ago

@Oakfield, never insult E Samuels again. He is not your level.. Make sure you stay in your lane from now henceforth.

          • Oakfield 2 years ago

Who is this mentally sick idiot seeking attention????

Decent list by GR. I don’t think Indidi is injured the dude only needs some rest which is very well deserved, etebo will be missed so dearly because he has formed a very good understanding with indidi and Iwobi over the time before the sudden advent of Ariball, Calvin Bassey has now become a very important player for Rangers of Scotland playing week in week out with a very good performance that can earn an invitation to any national team in Africa hence it will be difficult for any reasonable coach to ignore such a talent for a bench warmer playing in a relegation bound team in “scudeto” Ahmed Musa inclusion is what I’m not totally convinced with but the coach knows better.

Bar any injury or loss of form Nigeria is a strong contender for the next afcon trophy in Cameroon and like I said, the only two teams that can give us a stiff challenge for the trophy is Senegal and Morocco not undermining the strength of Ivory Coast and Cameroon but it’s gonna be a good test to our Darling SE to see that we have actually come of age.

I’m enjoying the slow and steady form at which GR is building this team. We are the future. Up Super Eagles!

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

You didn’t mention Algeria or you forgot?haha.I would rather prefer to play either of Senegal or Morocco to Algeria.

      • Tancosports 2 years ago

My beloved brother, Algeria is now in their decline stage, most of the players that form the team are aging, take away slimani, Mahrez, Attal, Mandi, feghouli and Mbohi the team will be left flat and these are the crop of players that have been with the team since 2013 Afcon. If you watch their last game against Burkina Faso you will understand what I’m talking about. Algeria will struggle in Cameroon and they will be forced to start rebuilding again after 2021 Afcon.

Gudiora and Banacer single handedly won the Afcon 2019 for them and now Gudiora has past his prime at age 34, Banacer is a bench warmer in AC millan and no quality player to even complement him in the midfield.

        • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Thank you Tancosports. Only Senegal and Morocco can have the ability or capacity to stop the SuperEagles from clinching glory in Cameroon and of course like you said one should be wary of Ivory Coast and host Cameroon. In fact the team that will stop the SuperEagles must be ready to do it with their blood. Once you remove Slimani, Mahrez, Feghouli, Attal, Benacer and M’bolhi from their team they’re ordinary. And they are all in their 30s now. Watch out how they will struggle in Cameroon. Burkina Faso have exposed them.

        • Greenturf 2 years ago

I didn’t see the game between Algeria and Burkina Faso,so I won’t question your judgement, but based on their unbeaten runs and performances up till most recently, you would understand why I rate them so high.
It’s yet to be seen if they will underperform in Cameroon though,I wish they did anyway.
On paper Morocco and Senegal pose as some of the finest teams in the continent and look good enough as pre tournament favourites, but competitions have their surprise team a team sometimes least expected or one not rated as top favourites.l hope we are that team.We have come a long way it’s time Rohr and his boys won a trophy for all their troubles.

  • I thought my eyes were decieving me or maybe Ndidi complained of Fatigue other wise i hope this is the last time. He plans on Excluding one of most important players in the spine of this team when we are preparing for 2 major tournament. This is the kind of decisions that Rohr makes that is mind Boggling which coach for whatever reason excludes their most important player from an important qualifier. Rohr fans I ask you?.

  • Ndidi is serving a suspension for the red card he picked up agaisnt Napoli in Europa League. I hope “Oga dem”are not planing their Agenda. WORLD CUP is around the Cornerrr. Lets wait and see, time shall unravel all as we know Ndidi aka the Rock aka double engine can play 100 games a season if he has too. Let us see.

  • Why the noise. Is rohr so stupid to exclude one if his best players. Nigerians we don’t find out the truth before we begin to abuse and worry.

  • xhuxhu 2 years ago

Good squad list. I believe this team can get the job done. A draw and a win at home will not be a bad outing. If it ends a double win over CAR, that will be a perfect result.
Super glad to see Bassey make the cut, the boy is a baller.
Finally, the talk about Musa’s inclusion in this team. If Musa continues with the form he is at present, It is high time, Gernot Rohr, should give other players such Dennis and Onyekuru a chance.
Please Forumites, does any person have any news with regards to Ejaria, Lookman, Ehizibue and Olise’s switch?

  • Wow Ndidi is so important to a squad see how Leicester defence were in shambles because he was missing. Kelechi was also sorely missed for Leicester in attack. I hope Rohr took notes as to Ndidi’s importance to a squad the next time he decides to leave him out for so called experiment sake.

P.s i am waiting to decend on CSN when Ndidi files out for Leicester over the weekend after the NFF and Rohr have spread lies that Ndidi is injured to the public.

  • Omo9ja 2 years ago

I am shaking my head for Oga Rohr and coach Agu.

    No Onyekuru.
    No Ebuehi.
    No Osagwe.
    No Nwakali.
    No Yakubu
    No Nwobodo

    But

    Akpeyi he dey.

    Okoye he dey.

    Uzoho he dey.

No matter how great our players are without a play maker, the strikers will struggle to score goals.

We saw that against Cape Verde in our last match.

Osimhen just managed to squeeze that first goal in.

We might be lucky that day but as Afcon in Cameroon is getting closer, do you think Oga Rohr Super Eagles can make Nigerians proud in Cameroon? Just wait, the time will tell.

Amaju should be getting ready ooooo. What Onyekuru displayed in our last game should be enough for him to be recall into the team.

That shows that Oga Rohr is not a smart coach.

A smart coach will introduce Onyekuru when his team is leading and there’s much pressure on his team. Oga Rohr should have known by now that he needed a player that can win game for him. Onyekuru did that against Cape Verde.

It has happened in the past. Against Brazil at the Atlanta 96 Olympics, Nigeria were leading and Ronaldo or one of the Brazilian stars was threatening our team and Jo Bonfrere, the Super and smart coach brought Oruma in to kicked that stubborn player out of the game which he did.

I am not sorry to say this, the coaches can not give what they don’t have period.

Relying on Akpeyi at this stage shows that the coaches of the Super Eagles have nothing left to offer Nigeria.

Musa is going to his last Afcon and world cup if we qualify so, he deserve to be in the team.

All the best to our Super Eagles.

I am so sorry for you Amaju. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • pompei 2 years ago

Delighted to see CALVIN BASSEY in the list!
Earlier on, he got a call up to the England U-21 team, but he turned it down because he was waiting for Nigeria. Now his time has come!
Feel sorry for Sanusi. His performance in the last Champions League game was not up to his real quality. A bit lethargic. I don’t know what’s going on with him. I hope he bounces back to the Sanusi we know.
Between Collins and Bassey, I think the left back position is locked down. They’re both good players. Collins however needs to be more consistent. We need to see more of what he produced against CV.
The absence of Lookman and Ejaria? They should be in the squad if they were available.
All the same, this is a good list. Enough fire power to get the job done.

    • Omo9ja 2 years ago

This is funny Pompei. The coaching crew did not have “Enough fire power to get the job done” at the last world cup in Russia and during the Afcon in Egypt?

Are we not deceiving ourselves this time if we believe that the coaching crew of the Eagles will turn things around?

What did they do differently after the last Afcon and the world cup?

You see the reason why we are complaining every day Pompei?

I won’t be deceived by your words Pompei. Nigerians deserve the best. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • @xchuchu,

Ehizibue hold a dutch passport and the dutch laws just like Austrian laws don’t allow dual nationality. He is faced with the choice of giving up his dutch citizenship for the Nigerian passport. He chose to keep his dutch passport to secure his future after football.

From relaible sources close to the family,Ejaria and Lookman have already been cleared to play for Nigeria by FIFA( remember that Pinnick inadvertently mentioned it a while ago only for a rebuttal to be issued by the coach) They are managing their intergration into the team as their positions is locked down presently.Olise can play for Nigeria, England, France and Algeria. He is keeping his options open thinking that he will go to Bayern Munich and then force his way into the french or English team. But he is at crystal Palace at the moment and all the hype about him last year have died down but he is a very good player.

I hope this gamble of excluding Ndidi pay off as I will rather play a not too fit Ndidi(playing with pain killer injections)for his experience in this crucial games and secure the wins in both legs. With qualification for the next round in the bag, I will use the last set of matches against cape Verde and Liberia( both official matches) to cap tie the players that needs to be tied down and give more game time to players like Onyekuru.

After the world cup in 2022, 4 players will likely retire from the national team.Balogun, akpeyi, Musa and possibly Etebo to make room for Lookman, Ejaria and Onyekuru and for Akpoguma to move to his preferred center back position.

But first we need to win the games next week and qualify for the next round. For sure, we need to make a bold and loud statement in Cameroun and then carry that momentum into the world cup in June 2022

    • Edoguy 2 years ago

Etebo is just 25…Why do you want him to retire?

      • GLORY 2 years ago

Don’t think Etebo will like you bring up age on this forum or any other. So let’s just shout hallelujah aloud to divert attention.

      • If Nigeria has eye,Etebo will be dropped. There is no doubt that he is a strong player that likes to fight in the game. But having him in the field wouldn’t give room for strikers to score and he wouldn’t score either.

You know me I always accept when I am wrong, Ndidi is Injured and this came out of Leicester City camp.. Quick Recovery to him. In the same breath I will like to apologise to Oga Rohr for attacking him on Leaving Ndidi out.

However this Dennis and Musa Situation is one that need immediate attention, also Taiwo Awoniyi should have been tested.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Hohahahahaha……How do you feel now after making so much fool of yourself, conjuring lies and conspiracy theories where there are none…..LMAOoooo.
I dont know how any sane human being will just go ranting with so much confidence about things he knows no jack about, no facts, no proofs, nothing….! See how the God of the just fights for his own…? LMAOoooo. I was waiting for you to continue jam-talking about your phantom ‘Agenda’ till matchday before helping you to clean your brain with some methylated spirit and some hard facts.

After all your ignorant vituperatious epistles and attacks all you can offer is 1 sentence of apology….LMAOoo….See humility….LMAOOooo

Its good you are man enough at least to acknowledge your misgivings, unlike your mentally and materially empty arrogant for nothing pauper of a brother chima who would still be throwing tantrums and bragging about wealth he has never touched, when he has been busted….LMAOooo.

Your apologies are accepted son. Go and sin no more…..LMAOooo

      • @Dr Drey If by sinning you mean fighting for justice and the reward of hardwork then cool I will keep sinning because Dennis based on hard work and merit and standard of play deserves it more than Musa

Next point, thank you for acknowledging a man is someone who can admit their wrong. Now I would like you to for once practise being a man and, agree you are wrong about Musa and, your blind defence of the injustice surrounding his constant unmerited invitation to the Super Eagles. Well, only if you are man enough of course.

        • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Hahahaha…what justice are you fighting for…? See tribal bigot claiming to be fighting for justice….LMAOooo

Where was your fight for justice when Keshi was non-playing captain at both Tunisia 94 and USA 94…?

Where was your fight for justice when Amokachi was non-playing captain at 2000 AFCON…?

Where was your fight for justice when Okocha was non-playing captain at 2006 AFCON

Where was your fight for justice when Kanu was non-playing captain at both Angola 2010 and 2010 WC…?

Where was your fight for justice when Yobo was non-playing captain at 2013 AFCON and was taken to Brazil just to earn 100 caps…?

Where was your fight for justice when Mikel was brought out of his hiatus and taken to 2019 AFCON as non playing captain…?

The same gesture that has been extended to all captains since Keshi is now the basis for your “tribal and religious hate-based fight for justice”….LMAOOooo.

Please keep fighting for justice and running around the village square naked with your lies and conspiracy theories. You will tell us if Dennis is the captain of the Super Eagles.

Go and strip Ahmed Musa of the SE captaincy and the privilege that comes with the position if you dont want Musa to be constantly invited to the SE anymore. Dont only stop at fighting against his invitation, fight also against the fact that the rest of the team are paired in their hotel rooms while the captain enjoys the privilege of having a suite to himself alone too…..LMAOooo…since you have become Gani Fawehimi of football.

When you see Musa in the SE camp on monday go and hack him down with an axe….LMAOooo.

You have not started ranting yet….you will rant till June 2022 when Musa leads the team out for our 1st world cup match…..LMAOoooo

  • Mind you I dont think Ndidi is really injured however I feel this a ploy to get him some rest by Leicester City during the international break which Rohr and NFF support and in Hind sight it will be a good rest for a player Leicester City hevily realy on and if he is in Shape for Leicester City it can only be Great for SE.. so I all for it. Because he is not injured but he is one that needs to be wrapped in cotton from time to time.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Hohahahahaha…..who cares what you think….LMAOOoo. You never think straight so nobody gives a damn what you think….LMAOoo.

Are you even reading what you are typing…..LMAOOOo…Rohr and NFF are conniving with Leicester city to lie that Ndidi is injured. If you want to learn how to lie I can recommend a few names on this forum to you, they can teach you the art of telling lies. Pls tell us a better lie.

A player who is so important to both club and country……LMAOOoo. A player whose absence most times always results in a loss of LCFC will now be lied about by the same club to be injured, when he is actually fully fit and available, “because they want to rest him” when they have a potentially dangerous match with Crystal Palace ahead…..LMAOOoo. So they just fell like “resting” Ndidi for a whole 2 weeks abi….LMAOoo…Just 2 weeks of rest and vacation…..LMAOoooo

Even you yourself wrote this just yesterday

“…..Wow Ndidi is so important to a squad see how Leicester defence were in shambles because he was missing…… I hope Rohr took notes as to Ndidi’s importance to a squad the next time he decides to leave him out for so called experiment sake….”

All of a sudden, because you have been humbled and disgraced, your tone has changed to LCFC are intentionally lying that he is injured to rest him….LMAOooo. I guess the alcohol you drank last night is yet to completely wear off from your blood stream.

Ndidi was injured vs Burnley and only patched up in order to finish the game…that’s how important he is to LCFC. They will rather patch him up or rush him back from an injury in order to have him to play for them rather, than lie he is injured just to “rest” him while he is actually fully fit to play a game.

To even claim Rohr and NFF are conniving with them is completely ludicrous….LMAOOo. You think we are illiterates or kinderschool kids here..??

Just eat your humble pie gracefully and move on and stop spreading senseless conspiracy theories that do not hold water….LMAOOoo
