2022 World Cup: Gyan Optimistic Ghana Will Qualify From Group Stage

Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan says he’s optimistic the Black Stars will make it out of the Group stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Recall that Ghana are in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup together with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

However, in an interview with Kessben FM, Gyan stated that Ghana has the potentials to qualify to the knockout stages of the tournament.

“We can qualify from our group with ease,” Gyan said.

“In 2006, we were the underdogs, coming up against the Czech Republic and Italy. They did not give us the chance but we went there and we performed.

“In 2010, the same thing happened. We went there and lifted the flag of Ghana high by playing in the quarter finals, which was an improvement.

“Before you can win the World Cup, you need to qualify from your group which is possible so I believe these players can do that.”

    Hahahaha Gyan I think you drank some rum or some cold beer which missed your mine; can you knock out Netherland and Uruguay out of the competition?! with your clumsier and elephantine strikers who shoot the ball over the goal bar or your weak and shaky defenders who had 4-0 from Japan and 3-0 from Brazil.

      @Tia
      Don’t write Ghana off. They are masters of deception. Have you forgotten what happened at AFCON? They had a disastrous outing but went on to give the star-studded SE the shock of their lives. My only fear is their brutal soccer display. Such crude antics may work with African teams, but hardly against masters of diving like the Netherlands or Uruguay. Ghana may end up with two red cards and three yellow red cards when facing these teams. Which will be a disappointment.

      As it is I don’t have any other option than to support Ghana and other African teams.

        Group stage not winning the world cup again as your minister of sports dreamt following ogogoro/kai kai intoxication?

          You’re directing your question to the wrong person.

  • I see no reason why we should be more concern about Ghana issue rather concentrating on our se.

    Yaw and your black jars (Ghana) not stars are so far from modern standard football , look at Brazil vs Nigeria friendly in 2020 you see the difference between modern team and shaky and underdeveloped team just like Black jar Ghana; Super Eagles drew versus big team in the World Brazil, but your shaky and weak team Ghana was defeated by Brazil 3-0 with shaky defence and elephantine strikers; I think in the final World Cup Ghana must prepare to have dozen of goals by their group rivals Netherland, Uruguay , Austrailia; Yaw think so good then wait for something bad will happened to your slug and sludgy Black jars or wrecked jars.

    Ghana’s opponents are not Netherland and Australia. Direct your energy to the super eagles. I heard they are rebuilding a team for the Afcon. Ghana has world Cup to play
