Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka has issued a stern warning to Gunners duo of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus that he won’t hesitate to smash their legs as Switzerland tackle Brazil in today’s 2022 World Cup game.
The Swiss said he had already warned the Brazil duo that he was going to ‘smash’ them when Switzerland face the South Americans in Qatar.
Switzerland and Brazil meet at Stadium 974 on Monday. Xhaka, who has been in superb form for Arsenal this season, helped the Swiss beat Cameroon 1-0 in their first game.
And Xhaka has sounded out a warning to his Gunners’ colleagues, insisting that being club teammates does not matter now.
“I told Gabby Martinelli and Gabby Jesus if you are running one against one against our goalkeeper I will smash you!” He told reporters on Sunday.
“It doesn’t matter that we are playing in the same team. This is the Word Cup. You play for your own country and you want to win.
“Of course, they were worried. They know me. If I smash you, it will be very very hard.”
In July 2017, Xhaka married his long-term partner, Leonita Lekaj. His wife gave birth to their daughter, Ayana, on 7 October 2019. They welcomed their second daughter, Laneya, on 24 April 2021.
Granit Xhaka was born on 27 September 1992 in the city of Basel, Switzerland, into an ethnic Albanian family from Podujevo, Kosovo,[a] then part of the FR Yugoslavia. The family moved from Podujevo to Basel, Switzerland that year where Granit and his older brother Taulant Xhaka were born.
Xhaka was involved in the Amazon Original sports docuseries All or Nothing: Arsenal, which documented the club by spending time with the coaching staff and players behind the scenes both on and off the field throughout their 2021–22 seasonCopyright © 2022 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
