2022 World Cup: Ramos Grabs Hat-trick As Portugal Thrash Switzerland, Zoom Into Quarter-Finals

Portugal made a big statement of intent of winning the 2022 World Cup after thrashing Switzerland 6-1 in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

Goncalo Ramos came in for Cristiano Ronaldo and the youngster scored a hat-trick as Portugal hammered Switzerland to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

Ronaldo was dropped by Fernando Santos for Tuesday night’s last-16 tie against Switzerland.

The Portugal head coach was unhappy with how the experienced attacker reacted to being subbed off against South Korea last time out.

21-year-old Ramos scored a hat-trick in his World Cup debut as the 2018 European champions made a statement against Switzerland.

They played some sensational football at times as Pepe and Raphael Guerreiro also got on the scoresheet. Chelsea target Rafael Leao added a stunning sixth goal late on.

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji scored a consolation for Switzerland with around half an hour to go but the so-called tournament dark horses were ripped apart by Portugal.

QATAR 2022 – EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!
While some are extremely busy shooting themselves in the foot with ridiculous, disastrous decision-making, and aggressively sharing their coaches’ salaries and players’ bonuses for good measure, others are moving ahead, making progress, hitting new highs, breaking new ground.
Morocco may very well become Africa’s first world cup winner. The team is a solid unit, and anybody that wants to beat this team will have to SWEAT BLOOD to do it.
Who will win the cup at the end of the day? The Dutch are interested. They have never won it before, having come close a few times in the past. Now would be a great time. England want to win it a second time. Portugal is huffing and puffing. CR7 would love to end his international career with the trophy. Mbappe and France want to hold on to the trophy. Modric would love to present the world cup to his country people as a parting gift. The Samba boys are firing on all cylinders. And then there is Argentina and their beloved Lionel Messi.
    Who want’s it more?
