Tunisia had a chance to score in the 41st minute when Harry Souttar blocked Mohammed Drager’s fierce shot at goal.

The Tunisians asserted their dominance in the first 15 minutes of the second half as they had Lion’s share of the possession.

Ferjani Sassi of Tunisia blazed a shot high over and wide in the 61st minute from just outside the box and Australia’s Matthew Leckie missed a glorious chance to tap in 10 minutes later after a defence-splitting pass by James McLaren.

Tunisia had several chances to score in the closing stages of the game with substitute Wahbi Khazri in particular having a shot that tested the Australian goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne in the 87th minute.

Tunisia play France in their third Group D game on Wednesday, November 30 at the Education City Stadium.

The Carthage Eagles have one point after two games played at the 2022 World Cup and Australia have three points.
