2022 WWC: Exclusive: Why Other Opponents Will Be Scared To Face Falconets –Dosu

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has disclosed that the Super Falconets will be the team to beat in the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Falconets on Sunday booked a place in the quarter finals of the tournament after overcoming South Korea 1-0, thanks to
Esther Onyenezide’s screamer in the 83rd minute.

The Nigerian ladies are expected to take on a team from Group D which comprises the United States, The Netherlands, and fellow Africans, Ghana.

However, in an interview with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, stated that the Super Falconets can shock the world in Costa Rica.

“I want to believe the Super Falconets have done a very good job to have qualified to the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a game to spare.

“This is simply a sign of determination from the players ti make the country proud. Beating teams like France and South Korea will boost the confidence of the players. I really don’t think other teams will take them for a ride any longer because they will be considered as threat.”

Since the inception of the competition, the Falconets have participated in all editions, finishing runners-up in 2010 and 2014.

Basking on the glory of past achievements is a huge drag on current performance.

Falconets should keep their heads down and approach the KO games with technicality.
