The 48 countries qualified to participate in the second round of the qualifiers have seeded into four pots based on the official FIFA ranking released on 31 March, 2022.
The teams will then be drawn into 12 groups of four teams (Group A to L) with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the tournament to be played in the West African country.

Hosts Cote d’Ivoire will also participate in the draw even though they have already secured the place in the tournament which means only one other team from their group will qualify for the competition.

The draw will be conducted by the CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu and assisted by African football legends Lucas Radebe of South Africa and Ivorian Solomon Kalou.

The first ball will be drawn from Pot 4 and will go to position A4.
The procedure will be repeated for the remaining teams of Pot 4 who will go to positions B4, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, H4, I4, J4,K4 & L4 according to the draw order.

The same procedure as above will be repeated for Pot 3, Pot 2 and finally Pot 1.

The qualifiers will start in June 2022.

Oya na give us our FOREIGN COACH!!!

But please don’t give us someone who will not know when our OPPONENT SWITCH 2 a BACK 5, until a SUNDAY SUNDAY FOOTBALLER will have to INFORM him..

    LMFAO!!

  • Bomboy 2 years ago

Thank God Ghana and Cameroon were also seeded which implies that we won’t be in the same group.

Our dear SE have become such a sissy that any experienced and determined team can whip us. Even now, we may still not qualify (remember what Angola did to us a few years ago) unless the NFF outs it’s house in order.

When will Nigerian football rise again?

  • Josiah Ayotunde 2 years ago

@Bomboy: Nigeria Super Eagles shall rise again. ( Don’t ask me when) But Nigeria cannot rise again. Not even on this century. Maybe centuries to come…

    May God heal our land…

    “But NIGERIA cannot RISE again”

What kind of SENSELESS talk is that?

After if SOMEBODY INSULT una Dem go say WHY..

Say EVERYONE dey entitle to HIS OPINION..

    SMH…

  • Why was Ghana seeded? Now, there’s no chance we’ll have them in our group, which I was really praying for. Anyway, 2023 will soon be here and hopefully we cross paths in the Afcon proper (by which time, Buhari and his aura would have gone).

    • Be careful what you wish for. Ghana just kicked your ass, you have not recovered and you are asking for more…lol. You can invite us to your bedroom we will still beat you. You are our wives and we don’t beg before having you at night…lol. Pls Ghana has moved on so stop the obsession and move on.

      • Ghana won nothing. I’m 100% certain Ghana cannot beat Nigeria in 2022 and going forward. You benefited from an archaic CAF rule that’s been rightly abandoned by FIFA, EUFA, CONMEBOL etc and played defensive for 85 minutes.

Anyway, that fluke blip is past. You have no idea how so much we want Ghana. Be confident and pray for it too. We had at least 4 gilt-edged chances to win over 2 legs and one even ended in your net but was ruled out. Even if we don’t win Afcon 2023, as long as we meet you and thoroughly and mercilessly drown you in goals, it’s all good. Call it what you like, but we’re waiting here…
