In a chat with Completesports.com, the 1994 AFCON winner stated that the Super Eagles must begin their campaign on a winning note.
“I have no doubt that the Super Eagles will make it to the next round of the 2023 AFCON. However, the team must ensure they commence their campaign on a winning note against Equatorial Guinea in the opening game.
“It is very crucial because that will boast the confidence of the players before facing Ivory Coast in the next game.
“I know Equatorial Guinea are not an easy team but we must do everything to win that game.”
