Adebayo Adeleye has expressed his delight after making a winning debut with the Super Eagles in Sunday’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.
Adeleye marked his first cap for the Eagles in their 3-2 win against the Leone Stars which sealed qualification to next year’s AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
Victor Osimhen bagged a brace while Kelechi Iheanacho netted the winner in stoppage time to seal the three points.
Reacting after the game, Adeleye thanked everyone who believed in him.

“Dream debut done ✅ and dusted. 🇳🇬🦅 🧤,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you to everyone for believing in me & for the support. 🙏🏾💪🏾.”
The Eagles will conclude the qualifiers with a home game against São Tomé and Principe in September.

Anybody coming to coach our national must know how to sift things I order to succeed.
Our players showed grit and resilience but am surprised they were easily wearied out, they couldn’t cope with physicality.

Dead ball takers?! Sorry you don’t have them at all!!! They simply aren’t there, simple. It’s a waste of time should Nigeria win free kicks, even penalties I won’t be surprised if they screw their chances. Set ball with free kicks must be practiced when these players are invited to camp.
@Paul Gift Orban is a free Kick Specialist. One of my biggest concerns when Pesiero a coach who has been with this team for almost a year. And knows the players.. and is supposed to be watching our players in thier club or at least videos of games especially those making headlines. And he also knows besides Kelechi Iheanacho who is not even a free kick specialist but can take them occasionally Orban is a specialist free kick taker.and had to be there for many reasons especially this one.
As for PK’s Osimhen is more than capable so to Is awoniyi and Iheanacho and
