2023 AFCONQ: Namibia Claim First-Ever Win Against Cameroon To Top Group C

Namibia recorded a first-ever win against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon after triumphing 2-1 in their Group C 2023 AFCON qualifier on Tuesday.

The three previous encounters between the two teams saw Cameroon record two wins and one draw.

Goals from Peter Shalulile and Absalom Nanjana Kamutyasa ensured the Southern Africans go top in Group C.

Vincent Aboubakar scored deep in stoppage time which was only a consolation goal for Cameroon.

The win means Namibia now has five points while Cameroon are on four points.

The host took the lead ten minutes after the break through Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Shalulile.

With ten minutes remaining, Kamutyasa doubled Namibia’s lead before Aboubakar reduced the deficit in added time.

Namibia climbed to top of the group with five points after three games, with Cameroon second on four points.

    It wasn’t a fluke .the Cameroonian played out their heart .till the last minute to get a goal. With the 4mins added time. stil both teams were on each others neck .
    I am not sure super eagles can survive the Namibian’s attack. The transition from defense to midfielders to attackers is good to watch and vice versa when the Namibian are not with the ball. .
    We all knew wat we saw with eagles. Where the middle is non existent.all balls get pass their middle with ease unless god deflect it out of the goal poll.
    If it was Namibian vs Nigeria I m sure the score wil be up to 4 0. Ask the Cameroonian keeper or aagiuissa zambo or the guy from Napoli he was in the game… Or abubuokar the Saudi man

      Why do we relate everything with Nigerian’s performance,games are not won my word of mouth but on the field let us wait until then

  • Sport radio. So Namibia will win tge next afcon. If they can beat Nigeria 4-0 then theybhave to win afcon. You’re wrong. They can’t beat us.
