2023 AFCONQ: What Will Guarantee Super Eagles Victory Against Guinea-Bissau —Peseiro

José Peseiro has explained what he believe will guarantee the Super Eagles victory against Guinea-Bissau.

The Eagles will host Guinea-Bissau on match day three Group A fixture of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers Inside the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja on Friday.

After two games the Eagles on six points top while Guinea-Bissau are second with four points.

The last time the Eagles faced Guinea-Bissau was in the group stage of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon which the former won 2-0.

But Peseiro is wary of the threat Guinea-Bissau will pose and believes it’s only if his players give maximum performance that victory can be assured.

“Guinea-Bissau was at the last AFCON they currently have four points after beating São Tomé and drawing with Sierra Leone,” Peseiro said in his pre-match presser on Thursday.

“They are a team with good quality, they will try to defend here and rely on counter attack. But it’s now left for us to put our commitments into the game.

“There are no easy matches and if we don’t give our maximum we won’t beat Guinea-Bissau.“

The Portuguese was quizzed on his decision to invite Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi.

“I had more time with the U-20, I watched their trainings and I chose Bameyi because he is a defender who can play centre back and right back.

“There are other players of course but if you observe I chose two right back, two left back, two centre back, four midfielders, four wingers and four strikers.“

Not to be harsh or too critical but you are starting to come across as compromised. Either that or you are a fox in a hen house, doing everything you can to hang on to a reportedly non-paying job, intending to collect later, with fat interest.
Either way, it speaks to the issue of credibility or lack there-of, as well as desperation.
