Flying Eagles head oach Ladan Bosso has expressed confidence the team can get a positive result against Italy on Wednesday.
Nigeria and Italy face-off in the second group D matchday of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina with the Europeans heavily tipped as favourites to win.
Both teams secured opening day wins over Dominican Republic and Brazil respectively and will look to seal knockout round qualification with a win.

“We stayed back after our match against the Dominican Republic to watch the Italy match against Brazil, and we took a lot of notes from there,” Bosso said.
” The Italians have the midfield machinery to outrun any team that is flustered by their pace and organization, but we will know how to deal with that.
“We have the boys who can neutralize their mortal armoury and deliver some blows of our own. Wednesday’s encounter will be interesting. We will respect them but we don’t fear any team at this championship.” he declared.

Good. Tell your boys to play as a team and not to be selfish.
God bless Nigeria
If they play like a team Nigeria 2: Italy 0
If dey play like the other ways they like most Nigeria 0 Italy 2.this is wat ifa said yesterday.
ALREADY, NO HOPE IS EXPECTED FROM THE TEAM. WE ALL BELIEVE THAT WE ARE JUST THERE TO ADDED TO THE NUMBER.
Let’s try and encourage the team. Italy is in no way superior to us if only the team can get their acts together. They should have at the back of their minds what their senior team did to us at USA 94(if not for eguavons stupidity, we would have won them. No be today him start to dy give us heartbreak.). It still hurts us till today and this should serve as enough impetus to deal them their own heart break. An eye for an eye.
Omo ibo spotted!
@TALK UR OWN, abegi speak for yourself only. The rest of us do not share your inherent inferiority complex. SMH
Let our boys play defensive game, then Italian will be in trouble
We don’t need to play a “defensive game”. We should just play our own game, but perhaps less selfishly, and let the chips fall where they may. GOOD LUCK to the lads.
Now they have studied the opponent, they now just need to focus on themselves and have a game plan/tactics based on what they saw in Italy’s last game that Bosso says they stayed back and watched – their downfalls are composure on the ball, accurate passing (making sure that they don’t waste their passes, ensure that every pass finds a team mate as much as possible) and finally practice shooting on target and forget about individual glory, collective glory is even better, so always be ready to pass the ball to a team mate who is in a better position to shoot on goal – nobody should try and be selfish by going for brainless glory – lets play a ONE team and we will beat them it’s not rocket science – Ladan Bosso hear me wella!
I personally watched the Italians destroy the Brazilians and i can assure you that they will destroy the flyIng Eagles in 20mins of play if the FE join them to play the fast paced soccer.
The antidote to there type of play is to apply the Ajax strategy. Cool the tempo and knock the ball around if you have the personnel to do accurate passing game.
Despite the pressure that will come and the running from their play makers, the FE should stay compact and cooool the tempo. If this is done and scoreline remain 0-0 after half time. The FE will over run them because Italians will get tired with the dropping tempo of the game.
Thanks and best luck to Ladan Bosso
