2023 WWC: Spain Inflict Another Humiliating Defeat On Zambia

It was another humiliating defeat for the Copper Queens of Zambia who were hammered 5-0 by Spain in Group C of the 2023 women’s World Cup on Wednesday.

A brace from Alba Redondo and Jennifer Hermoso and a solitary strike by Teresa Abelleira made it back-to-back defeats for Zambia.

In their first game against 2011 World Cup champions Japan, the Zambians also lost 5-0.

Abelleira gave Spain the lead in the 9th minute before Hermoso doubled their lead on 13 minutes.

With what Ireland is playing against Canada, it looks to me like we were just over respectful of Canada, we should have taken that game to them as they are very beatable. Are we hoping to beat Ireland? This will be a very tough call!

Zambia is a disgrace to African women football. Collecting 11 goals in two matches is enough to laugh about where these African women came from.

Zambia just dey collect left, right, center.
10 goals conceded in 2 games.
One more game against Costa Rica. They should try and make a decent contest out of that.

Thats what happens when you do regional qualifications and weed out the best teams from the continent because of CAF politics. Ghana and ivory coast are far better than lousy Morocco and Zambia. I hope CAF has learnt some lessons.
