2023 WWC: Super Falcons Ready For ‘Hardest Match’ Against Ireland — Waldrum

2023 WWC: Super Falcons Ready For ‘Hardest Match’ Against Ireland — Waldrum

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum is expecting a difficult duel against Republic of Ireland.

The former African champions will take on the Girls in Green in their final group game at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Monday.

The encounter billed for the Brisbane Stadium will kick-off at 11am Nigeria time.

The Irish have nothing to play for in the game as they are already eliminated from the competition.

The Super Falcons need just a point from the game to seal a place in the Round of 16.

Waldrum said the game will be difficult despite Vera Pauw’s side status.

“It is going to be a very difficult game. People may think I am crazy for saying this, but I think it could be our hardest match. Ireland have been a bit unlucky in the first two matches and could have got a result,” Waldrum told Reuters.

“We are not expecting them to lay down because they are going home already, I am expecting to get the best from them and have been very impressed with their team and their organisation.”

  • By the grace of God they will fall for Nigeria

  • This coach is American and look at the way he is talking. Respect your opponent. The indigenous coaches should learn as they like to talk by putting down the opponent. Nigerian coaches like to boast as if they will finish the opponent now but only to faol miserably.

If Canada beat Australia, Nigeria will go through even if they lose.

Did I not say this immediately after the Australia match?

Falcons have to be careful against the Irish team. They most not settle for a draw at the same time they have to be cautious as well.

Super Falcons should not take their foots off the pedal. Topping the group is what should be on our players.

If Colombia could beat Germany, then the sky is Super Falcons limits.

I want coach Waldrum to shock Ireland by starting Oparanozie and Gift Monday tomorrow.

I am so glad Mr. Waldrum said Falcons is not going for a draw tomorrow. We have to set the record straight and make history by topping the table.

One thing I want Super Falcons should keep in mind. The crowd and FIFA officials won’t favor our darling team, but our ladies should put their faith in God and concentrate for the 90 minutes.

The officials don’t want Africans and none Oyinbo countries to go far in this world
cup, but their have no choice.

I hope our local coaches are taking notes.

If they want to make names and history, they should stand their ground when they are making their selections. They have to select the best to represent Nigeria.

Our local should pay more attention to how coach Waldrum is doing is magic in Australia and the way he did not let NFF to select players for him. Now, he’s enjoying his hard work and he can call on any player to get his job done for him.

Alimatu Ayinde was injured while the coach replaced her with Echiegini.

Not like coach Eguavoen, who ignored Dessers and picked fewer players, and he regrets his actions in the end.

Coach Waldrum is making history already, and by God’s grace, he will go far in this tournament.

Falcons should please not make any mistakes in defense, and they should take their chances when they come. Good luck to our lovely Super Falcons. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Why can you not make your point without putting down our indigenous coaches, must you all always berate them like Pinnick did. You forgot Waldrum failed woefully In Morocco and local coaches have won Afcon many times. If Waldrum was an African he would have been fired long ago. We have no patience with our own local coaches which is unfair. all of sudden Waldrum is now a super coach that should be emulated.

Mikee you don’t know this fella? If you’re looking for a double mouth individual he’s the perfect example. He was praising Eguavoen before the AFCON like the best thing to happen before sliced bread. He’s the comic relief of this forum. You will laugh tire when he starts changing his mouth.

Well said. Football development takes time and patience. These two, as never been benefited by any indigenous coach or manager in Nigeria. We had Dunnerby Thomas, we saw what he did with the team in 2019 female world cup in France, but the team had grown and they’re more experience also with more exposure. Sincerely, the current coach got the right blend so far. Going forward, let the Nigerian fan and the he NFF do things right by being patient and also should give the indigenous coaches the same support given to foreign technocrats for the game to develop along with with the indigenous technocrats.
