American tennis star Taylor Fritz pulled a strong comeback to defeat his longtime friend Frances Tiafoe 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to zoom to his first major final at the 2024 US Open.
Fritz’s victory revived the hopes of the US 21-year-wait for a male Grand Slam singles champion.

Elated to reach his first Grand Slam final, Fritz attributed his victory to hard work.
“It’s the reason I do what I do, the reason why I work so hard. I’m in the finals of the US Open,” Fritz said as quoted by ATP Tour.
“It’s a dream come true and I’m going to give it everything I possibly have. I know that for a fact.”
Andy Roddick was the last American to win the US Open title at Flushing Meadows in 2003.
Fritz will face top seed Jannik Sinner, on Sunday, for this year’s Grand Slam title.
