Serbian tennis veteran Novak Djokovic will face Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round of the 2026 French Open (Roland Garros).
The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, marking a rare Sunday start for Djokovic at a Grand Slam.

Perricard is a 22-year-old, 6’7″ French player known for his powerful serve.
This is considered a challenging opening match for the 3rd-seeded Djokovic, who is seeking his 25th Grand Slam title.
Djokovic, who hasn’t played since losing his first match at the Italian Open, was also drawn to potentially meet world No. 30 Joao Fonseca of Brazil in the third round and No. 17 Casper Ruud, the Italian Open runner-up, in the fourth round.
