2026 WCQ: Awaziem Backs Super Eagles To Get Qualifying Campaign Back On Track

Chidozie Awaziem has said that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will bounce back following their disappointing results in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by minnows Lesotho on Thursday, November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

They also ended their match against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in a 1-1 stalemate on Sunday, November 19 at the Huye Stadium.

Following the string of disappointing results, Awaziem has urged Nigerians not to give up on the team on his X handle.

“We will bounce back and make the country proud 🇳🇬🇳🇬🙏🙏,” he wrote.

The Nigerian team has been at six FIFA World Cup tournaments (USA 1994, France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018).

They are third in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series with two points after two games.

He has played 13 games in all competitions for Portuguese outfit Boavista this term.

If Super Eagles cannot win their remaining 4 home games, they do not deserve to be at the 2026 World Cup.

  • The problem is that the nff doen’t understand the probkem of Nigeria football. The don’t understand that football needs money for imvestment they are always complianing of money. They don’t understand that camping is needed before games. They don’t understand that development of local players is needed. All the national teams have problem from u17 to the senior team
