Former Rwanda international Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza jas expressed confidence that the Amavubi are capable of beating every team in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Rwandans recorded their first win in the group after a 2-0 home win against South Africa.
The win took them to top of the group on four points after two games.
South Africa occupy second spot on three points while Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Zimbabwe and Lesotho all have two points.

“It is something to rejoice as Rwandans because it has been so long without winning at home with better performance,” Mugiraneza, who is current Musanze FC assistant coach told Weekend Sport via allafrica.com.
“All I can tell the boys is to keep working hard because anything can happen if they keep working hard for the next matches.
“We saw Amavubi which is different from the past, I saw different football. They attacked, they are united and they worked hard but they are not that far yet, they have to prepare their mind since they showed that they can beat every team in this group.”
The qualifiers will resume in June 2024 with bottom team, Benin Republic, hosting Rwanda.
The Super Eagles will welcome South Africa while Zimbabwe will battle Lesotho.
