With 15 goals and 7 assists, sadiq is the best Nigerian striker at the moment based on stats.
Paul onuachu is 2nd with 16 goals and 2 assists.

Taiwo has 11 goals 0 assist, making him 3rd.

Victor Osimhen is 4th with 7 league goals and 0 assist.

Dessers is 5th with 5 league goals 1 assist.

His place in SE is well deserved.

  • Golden Child 2 years ago

Scratch that dennis is 4th with 9 goals and 5 assists whilst old war horse ighalo is 3rd with 16 goals and 1 assist.

Based on performance at their clubs, here are the rankings:

    1. Sadiq Umar
    2. Paul Onuachu

    4. Emmanuel dennis
    5. Taiwo Awoniyi
    6. Victor osimhen
    7. Cyriel Dessers

      Iheanacho nkor?

Trash. You should know that there’s something called EUFA goals coefficient. Check it on their website.
I know some years back three goals in Holland league equalled two goals in EPL/Spanish/SerieA etc.
Sadiq scoring 15 goals in Segunda Liga is NO where close to Awoniyi’s 11 Bundesliga goals.
      Do get your information updated.

  • Congratulations on the award and the goals. I hope to see you in the top division next season. You have outgrown this division so its obvious you need to move up to the next level and try your skills at a more difficult level.

Sadiq is on fire and ready to wrestle the top 9 of Super Eagles with anyone whether Victor or Ighalo. Scoring 20 goals or more in 3 seasons is no joke. Currently scored 15 goals and 9 Assists in 26 matches is nothing short of class. Yes he is in 2nd Division Spain.
But remember he came joint 3rd highest Goal scorer in 2016 Olympics with Neymar and Etebo with 4 goals. While Gabriel Jesus was 8th with 3 goals. So he is not new to the big stage.

So I know, he will definitely move to Top club this summer most likely in Laliga. Almeria cannot hold him further.
So let’s us give this up coming Star some respect he deserves. His time has finally come and there is no stopping him, Both in Club and country he is set to make his Mark.

Sadiq Umar is always our man. He has done very well and I’m thankful that coach Eguavoen realised this earlier which prompted his invitation to the SE. The mistake some of you has made is that club football is entirely different from the national side where Osimhen and Odion had been tested and trusted to deliver. The most important thing is securing victory in the playoffs.

      • Ikeben 2 years ago

I’m not making any mistake. I’m only celebrating Sadiq’s performance. I have not said he should replace Osimen in Super Eagles. But all I’m saying is he has done enough to prove he is ready for the big things. He has also done well in Super Eagles. 1goal in 2 matches is not bad at all. Even Osimen didn’t score 1 goal in his first 2 games for SE. We the fans should learn to celebrate our players stats irrespective of our favourites. The sky is wide enough for every bird to fly high.

        • Vincent 2 years ago

It cuts out of place to even compare a 2nd division player to 1st division. Is a mistake you have all made in the past. But there’s room for correction though. However, Osimhen remains SE no1 at least for an unforeseeable future. I’m more concerned on how SE will make it to Qatar.

  • Spot on @Vincent. The comment made by Golden child is just to cause bad blood among the players, that’s very bad. Some comments on the platform sometimes make one wonders if these people’s loyalty belong elsewhere.

    • Ufot Bassey 2 years ago

Those are secession based comments. Remember Sadiq recently came out to accuse a certain section that coach Eguavoen’s invitation extended to him wasn’t becos of quota system.

      • Golden Child 2 years ago

Why do we like to stir up unnecessary bitterness? The last time I checked goals scored is the greatest metric in quantifying the effectiveness of a centre forward. All I have done is to rank them based on their goal contribution and here you are throwing the word secession carelessly. I am scratching my head to connect my comments to what you just contributed.

You may not like the player or his comments but that does not negate his performance at club level and he deserves the recent call up. I for one do not want ighalo in the team because of his age and I believe there are younger alternatives but I can not dismiss his performance at his club, after all, figures do not lie.

The fact that a northern player is on top is what is giving most of you lot Head ache but those are the stats. Your comment is mischievous and the only one making a secessionist comment is you. Please do better.

    • Golden Child 2 years ago

Oga Pius, my intention is not to cause bad blood . I have simply ranked them based on their productivity at their various clubs. There is another element not considered which is the difficulty of the league but since that can not be quantified, I did not use it as a criteria because it is subjective.

Why you will doubt my loyalty based on that beats me. If anything it will encourage others to put in more work. Please think positively.

  • chuks haifa 2 years ago

This rating doesn’t make sense to the coaches. Everyone knows Osimehin is the best at the moment.

  • Golden Child 2 years ago

This is based on their output at their various clubs. Of course , difficulty of the league has not been factored and could be subjective.

  • Samson 2 years ago

Sadie style of play can’t suit the Super eagles. He is a lanky forward with no pace. He is best a second striker not main in my opinion.

  • Larry 2 years ago

Based on the level of league, their performance including goals scored, assis5s, and penalty contribution and technical capability of defenders they face..

    1. Osimhen
    2. Dennis
    3. Awoniyi
    4. Onuachu
    5. Sadiq.

    • Golden Child 2 years ago

@ Larry , penalty contribution ke! Lol, when did that become a criteria to measure strikers? You would agree with me , your list is subjective but it is your list nonetheless.

    • Gabriel 2 years ago

@Larry, at least they aren’t bench warmers but where is the place of our main striker, Iheanacho?

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Apart from OSIMEHN, IGHALO, KELZ and maybe ONUACHU all these FLUKY dudes are not built for the SE.

You guys are being BAMBOOZLED by their 15 goals, 7 assist or 9 goals, 5 assist bullshit!!! SMH..

    • Moses Inyang 2 years ago

Well,no need for arguments.A times club form does not necessarily translate to national team form.sadiq show working in super eagles as they say in mathematics

      • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

God bless you my brother! Am surprised that fans are not seeing farther than they should!!!

  • @Larry, though some come to join us on this platform, we all know that real Nigerians are never bitter. Having said that, Iheanacho i4 goals and few assist should also count but it’s like he’s shying away.

    • Edafe Ehs 2 years ago

It’s their way since there’s no tribalism today…They mostly shy away from their failures. Don’t you see their assistant coaches…?

      • Suchiz 2 years ago

You mean the Tafia stars of Taxinia who humbling doubles as asst. coache?

      • Stan b 2 years ago

@Edafe, no no no. It’s possible seniorman is no longer in the team for assessment.

    • Jpmies zamzam 2 years ago

Jide, still on the unseeded Iheanacho, Some commenters don’t think it what to type, they just post one liner..lol..
Don’t you ‘think’ he might be ‘thinking’ on what to type afterwards…?

    • Golden Child 2 years ago

Nacho does not even get to play most times, hence why I excluded him in my list but if we do include him, he would only be above dessers at 7th position, pushing dessers further the pecking order.
