Addo: Black Stars Will Shine In Qatar

Black Stars interim head coach Otto Addo is confident the Black Stars will make a good impact at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The West Africans will face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H of the global showpiece event.

The Black Stars had a poor outing at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon early in the year and managed to beat eternal rivals Nigeria on away goal rule to qualify for the mundial.

Addo is confident with adequate preparations his side will do well in Qatar.

“If we’re at 100 percent, we can beat anyone,” the former Ghana international winger, who played for the Black Stars at the 2006 World Cup,”Addo was quoted by CAFonline.com.

“I think it is difficult and I have not really taken a critical look at the group but in football, everything is possible than in cup games because there are big teams in Divisions One and Third Division.

“But it is very interesting because you can win or lose against everything and at the level of the World Cup, everything is capable of causing an upset and so everything is possible.

“From my point of view, I was born in Germany and I would have loved that game but on the other hand, I look at Germany and Spain, it is good that Ghana is not in that group.”

Addo’s side will open their tournament at the 2022 World Cup by taking on Portugal before playing Uruguay and then wrap up their group campaign with a clash with South Korea.

I fink wi nid it a bit sinsi die kosh av stated to run his maot for pres. Otto Addo is trai to balance the tension in group with Portugal and Uruguay.

  • Trust me addo.you cant qualify from this group. This is not Nigeria we are talking about here. These are 3 formidable teams. We will see how it goes. You’re so lucky to edge Nigeria on away goal rule. There’s no away goal rule at the world cup

Pls get over the pain of not qualifying and think rationally. From the lessons we thought you by eliminating you, you should know by now that anything is possible in football. You lost out against a better organised black star so get over it and support all Africa representatives. Ghana can make it and we believe. God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong!

  • Yaw opare or whatever your name is… You know deep down in your heart that Ghana didn’t beat Nigeria. Nigeria is the one that beat Nigeria. We are better than you by miles and you know it. The only problem with Nigeria is corruption which needs to be addressed and eradicated. For me, looking at your world cup opponents, Ghana can’t stand the heat when chip is down. Are you telling me that you can beat Portugal with their super stars like Ronaldo and co. Can you withstand the relentless speed of the south Koreans? Or can you beat the technical skills of Uruguay that have the likes of Suarez and co. Ok lets wait and see what happens in November

My brother why are you not in the world cup if you didn’t lose out to ghana. Ghana is not inferior to any of the teams you mentioned. We will sure qualify from that group. You said ghana will not survive Nigeria but you have your tail between your legs now. I thought you will learn from that. Instead of hating on ghana pls try and clear the mess in your camp

Yamhead or what are you called,
We can’t hate on Ghana. Never! How can we hate on a country with no senior level trophy in the last 40 years? A shameful, pathetic situation to be in!
The last time Ghana won a trophy at senior level was 4 decades ago!
Hahahahahahaha! So what is there to envy?
We can envy Cameroon, Senegal or Egypt, not Ghana. No way!
Nigeria is superior to Ghana in football. Sentiments aside.
Cameroon is perhaps the only country that is superior to us in football in Africa. Ad even that is not clear cut. Nigeria has achieved some things Cameroon has not.
With Ghana, it’s a no contest. Nigeria is far ahead!
See below a list of Nigeria’s achievements in football:
The highest ranked African country ever to date. Ranked 5th in the world in 1994.
Olympic gold, silver and bronze – 1 medal each.
3 Afcon trophies, 4 Afcon silver medals, 5 Afcon bronze medals.
6 world cups attended. 2nd round on 3 occasions.
    5 U-17 world cup trophies.
1 U-20 world cup silver, and also an U-20 bronze.
So you see, we can’t be jealous of a country we are head and shoulders ahead of in terms of football achievements.
    Is that ok, Yamhead?
This Ghana side is easily the worst Ghana side in the last 50 years. Just a bus-parking side devoid of imagination and enterprise.
We will be supporting you when you go to Qatar, being that you’re the worst of Africa’s 5 representatives. Let’s hope you don’t go there and disgrace and embarrass Africa!!!
Hope we meet again soon, perhaps during the 2023 Afcon qualifiers.
We look forward to meeting Ghana soon!
By the way, has Ghana paid the $100 million owed to Nigerian gas company yet for your electricity needs?
Pay your debt first, before you come here to open your halitosis mouth to utter empty boasts.
Coming to your creditor’s web site to utter empty boasts! Hahahahahahaha!
    Arrogant for nothing!
