With few weeks to the start of the winter transfer window, Completesports.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU highlights four top Super Eagles players who need to find new clubs in order to get their careers back on the right track again with regular playing time.
LEON BALOGUN (Brighton & Hove Albion, England)
The centre-back arrived Brighton on a free from German club FSV Mainz last season and featured sparingly under Chris Houghton. Balogun has failed to dislodge the centre-back pairing of Sean Duffy and Lewis Dunk. He made eight league appearances for the Seagulls and scored one goal in his first season at the Premier League side.
This term, the 31-year-old is yet to feature in a league game and has only made the matchday squad on a few occasions. It seems he has also lost his place in the Super Eagles squad with the trio of William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Semi Ajayi now ahead of him in the pecking order.
Certainly a loan move away in the upcoming winter transfer window will do Balogun a lot of good and help revive his international career.
ISAAC SUCCESS (Watford, England)
Success featured in 30 league games for Watford in the 2018/19 season, and scored only one goal. The arrival of Danny Welbeck and Senegalese forward, Ismaila has however limited his chances of playing regularly at the club this season.
The 23-year-old has also barely managed to stay fit too and has made just three league appearances for the Hornets this season.
With the quartet of Troy Deeney, Gerard Deulofeu, Welbeck and Sarr ahead of him in the pecking, it will be reasonable for the former Granada forward to seek a move away from the club in January.
HENRY ONYEKURU (Monaco, France)
The versatile forward arrived Monaco for £12.5 from Premier League club , Everton this summer but has been frozen out by coach by Leonardo Jardim. Wissam Ben Yedder and Algeria’s Islam Simani have shouldered goal scoring responsibilities for the principality club which means Onyekuru must seek a move elsewhere to play regular football.
Another loan move to Galatasaray where he scored 14 goals in 31 league games last season look likely, but another Turkish club is also reported to be willing to pay Monaco €3m to secure his services in January.
TYRONNE EBUEHI (Benfica, Portugal)
Tyronne Ebuehi’s chances of staking claim to a regular playing berth at Benfica was truncated when he picked up a cruciate ligament injury in pre-season training few weeks after his arrival from Dutch club ADO De Haag which ruled him out for the entire 2018/19 campaign.
The full-back also spent time on the sidelines at the start of this season as a result of a thigh injury. He is yet to feature in the Primeira Liga for Benfica this season.
With game time difficult to come by at the Portuguese champions, Ebuehi needs to move quickly and get his career back on the right pedestal again. And he canbolster Super Eagles defence if can get back regular competitive action at club level.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
