Much-travelled fly-half Ryan Lamb has announced his retirement from rugby at the age of 33 after 15 years at the top of the sport. The Gloucester-born stand-off began his career with the Cherry and Whites, playing 53 games between 2004 and 2009 before switching his allegiance to London Irish for two seasons.
He then played two years at Northampton and one with Leicester Tigers before finding his way to Worcester in 2014. Three years later he was at French club La Rochelle but, after two years on the Atlantic coast, has opted to call time on his career.
“I would like to thank every player, coach and fan that has helped and supported me over the last 15 years,” he said on Twitter. “I feel so lucky to be able to travel the globe and play with and against some of the best players in the world but more importantly I’ve met some great people who I will call friends for life.” Lamb also made five appearances and scored 46 points for the England Saxons.
