To be honest, Iwobi needs to focus on his music abeg. He has offered very little. Why us Chukwueze not playing in this game veats my imagination. Hooe Eric Chelke succeeds as i think he is a very good coach.
You need to go and buy specs if you cant see the shit Iwobi is playing. Or stop commenting on football, follow another sport .
Iwobi is SHIT
IWOBI = SHORT 1
I think I’m the only one with this notion abt Bruno, but why not arokodare instead of desser that haven’t played for a while? Player that have impressed me the most so far are lookman and Federick, I expect lookman to be match rusty, but he has been the best for us so far.Not a bad game so far and I expect a change that will result to goal in second half, chuckzy shd be introduce for iwobi asap .
Even though I think that Osimhen’s goal should have stood, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t have scored more. I feel like we’ve been doing the same thing and expecting different results. There are hungry players in the team, not sure why we stuck with same ppl. Dele-Bashiru, Agu and Uche at least should have started. Let me not be quick to condemn sha
We thank God for everything. My people, please keep calm, goals are coming soon. We are winning this match by God’s grace. I have no doubt in my mind right now. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Alhamdulilah. I knew we would win this match and we did.
I will not blame anyone for this match because the pressure of not winning matches at home was too much for our players, the pressure of South Africa’s 9th points ahead of us was too much, but now South Africa will be under pressure on Tuesday.
South Africa would be deceived by being beaten by Lesotho 3-0. They would believe they can win against Nigeria, but forget that Lesotho is a weak team and can’t be compared to Nigeria and Rwanda.
Rwanda is the most difficult team to beat and we managed to beat them.
The South Africa vs Nigeria will be easier than today’s match, and believe me, you will see the better side of Eric Chelle and his troops.
I wish Oshimen a quick recovery. Arokodare is a complete striker, and he showed that today, while Dessers needs to step up his game against the Bayana Bayana on Tuesday.
Oh well, any, the ball has entered the net, we have three points added to our points, 10 points now, that is what matters now kę.
The confidence is back in the Super Eagles team and our boys will play the South Africans with the last breath of their lives. Hope still day kę. Impossible is nothing. Up Naija. We thank God for everything. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Chelle is using a DM as a right winger, and using a winger in a double pivot alongside Ndidi. Upside down tactics. Iwobi should be on the wings, and Onyeka should be alongside Ndidi!
Based on the first half performance, we’re just not good enough. Sorry.
No imagination, no punch, poor deliveries into the box. If we continue this way, where will the goals come from? Something needs to change! Time for Chelle to earn his money.
The boys have to step up in the second half, show some talent, purpose and desire, and get the result needed. As it is, SA are smiling. The world cup ticket is about to fall into their hands.
Every team that has played against us in this qualifiers came with their A game. They fought hard not to lose and when they have opportunities they don’t miss. That’s how determined and purposeful they’re.
I don’t think against South Africa they played with the same energy otherwise South Africa won’t sit comfortable at the top of the table.
Meanwhile,Nwabali should watch his temperament, one more card we would be one man short, the coaches should take note.
The way the game is going i would be surprise we won.
Etic Chelle has no clue – the geezer has completely lost the plot!
The right wing has been vacant since kick off, it’s like sahara desert- there is zero balance in the team
See SA beating teams 3-0 and the SE is here dragging with Rwanda and fielding a clueless inept “captain player like Iwobi! SMH
Our right wing is practically non existent.
Onyeka is NEVER a right winger. He’s a midfield soldier.
The back four is ok, but the midfield and attack? It could be a lot better.
Rwanda are playing a low block system, playing everybody behind the ball. Most teams adopt this approach against Nigeria. Their plan is to keep us out until the dying minutes, then unleash a fast counter attack and hope to snatch a winning goal.
It is up to our lads to find a way where their appears to be no way.
Coach Chelle, remove onyemaechi and bring Ekong and play 3 man defense biko. Its not too early to secure ur 3pts ooo. Worse case scenario let Bassey dey the left side of the 3 man defense ooo.
3 Points secured. Arokodinho delivers another goal, a crucial goal.
Chelle’s tactical flexibility was on display. He started with 4-2-3-1, switched to 4-4-2, and finished with 3-4-3 (or shall we say 5-4-1?) to shut up shop.
In doing so, he borrowed a page from Peseiro’s book. What worked for us at the Afcon has worked for us yet again. Peseiro knew that we were poor going forward, so he set the team up to at least be difficult to score against. That’s what 3 center backs does for us. We should be adopting this going forward more often. We especially need this formation in crucial games, like the one coming up against Bafana Bafana.
If we can’t win in style, then we’ll take a smash and grab. On to the next one.
In my opinion, a good formation for this team is 3-5-2.
Nwabali
Fredricks, Ekong, Bassey
Aina, Uche, Ndidi, Iwobi, Bruno
Arokodare, Osimhen
This formation gives us a solid defense with 3 center backs, a mobile midfield, and 2 big, tall, strong forwards. We just need to supply them with quality crosses, and they will get the job done.
Use this formation against SA, and we will likely secure the much needed win. We are much more balanced and compact when we adopt this method.
Also, Nwabali needs to calm down! His head is too hot. Very unnecessary yellow card. And the Rwanda player saw the opportunity to possibly get Nwabali sent off, and continued to goad him.
Nwabali should just have ignored the guy and gone about his business. A learning point for next time.
I don’t really get this insinuations that our opponents are succumbing more easily to SA than to us. That is so ludicrous.
No 1 SA has a damn solid and highly technical coach – a man who won afcon with the worst Cameroonian team ever assembled. South African players are ball players who play with a lot of intelligence. Most of their players come from the same club which means there’s better chemistry.
If not that we don’t have shame, who are Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Benin that we should not be taking to the cleaners home and away in every game.
Rwanda’s no . Gk is a 2nd choice in a SA club, their best striker plays in Libya. Most of lesotho and Zimbabwe players play in South african league, mostly for clubs that aren’t any of sundowns or pirates. Most of Benin players play in 2nd and 3rd division and other backwaters.
Are these teams too difficult to be taken to the cleaners home and away by any serious team with a good coach….??
I hate to pour acid in your belies…..but even Rohr will navigate this group with a big team like the SE with 2 games to spare.
So SA does not need an accord to defeat any of these teams. Atleast theybdidnt need and accord with us before nearly defeting us in uyo, neither did they need an accord with Benin republic before defeating them in Abidjan.
As a side note, FIFA should make VAR a must for ALL Worldcup Qualifiers, this is insane and a big shame on Nigeria as a soccer loving nation. NFF too yab, if una no fit buy, atleast mek una rent am from other North African countries. The lack of VAR is costing us and will continue to cost us if this is not remedied. Just my 2 kobo lol
Iwobi, Bruno Onyemachi are very poor in that match. Felix Agu should replace him immediately or draft Aina there while Osayi Samuel play right full back of we. Against SA, 3-5-2 will be the best option. þ, Bassey and Ekong as center back. Ndidi, Onyedika and Chrisantus Uche playing more in an offensive role. Simon as left wing back, Aina as right wing back. Lookman pair Arokodare upfront. Leaving Lookman and Uche as the creator in the final 3rd. Chuwueze can be a joker in that match. Wishing osimhen a quick recovery
If we play 4-4-2, I think it needs to look something like this:
Nwabali
Aina, Ekong, Fredericks, Bassey
Iwobi, Onyeka, Ndidi, Lookman
Arokodare, Osimhen
A balanced formation with square pegs in square holes. It’s not rocket science. We can get good results if deploy our BESTplayers in their BEST positions!

Really, are we watching the same game….?
Who else has made more forward passes with incision in this game than Iwobi…?!
What has onyeka and ndidi done in midfield….??
Couple that with the fact that we have full backs and wingers who cannot cross accurately to save their own lives.
My brother, look beyond iwobi if there anyone to be scapegoated in this game.

All over….without Osimhen
Don’t be too quick to dismiss them. Osimhen is only a player and we have a whole lot of them there.
Why is our RW isolated while the LW is overloaded without purpose?
Another very poor player na dat Onyemaechi, not an Eagle material abeg.

Brain-dead football
Even if it is 1 goal, this guys should score. We can’t afford to draw o.

I think we will need to bring chillies at this time to commit the Rwandan’s, we can only isolate them 1v1
I mean chukwueze

How on earth have we ended up with a SE that cannot counter attack and lacking in intelligence…..??!
The deadly counterattacking machine we used to have just less than a decade ago has been broken to bits.
It so unbelieveable.
The NFF president and Technical Director should be writing their resignation letters as we speak. This is not football

When teams brought their A game…..did we bring ours….?
The exams are always difficult for the student who didn’t study properly.
Haha true..Can’t argue that!
Energy and press look better now. C’mon super eagles!

Arokodare’s hold up play is top notch
Thank you God, Arokodare what a player, good with leg, head, control and chest. Unto SA.
South Africa can’t beat this Rwanda o.
Aside the goal, Arokodare shd be VO direct replacement for now.
3 Points secured. Arokodinho delivers another goal, a crucial goal.

If this is what Chelle has to offer us technically, I think we are better off with local coaches.
Ajeh and I cant honestly understand his square peg in round hole tactics. Its better to have a siasia than this automatism dogmatic.
In my opinion, a good formation for this team is 3-5-2.
