However, due to paperwork with work permits and residence permit cards, it took until this weekend before Yusuf travel to Sweden.
The club disclosed that Yusuf is now ready to play and is available for selection in Sunday’s league game against GIF Sundsvall.
Yusuf made his debut in Gombe United FC back in 2019 as a 17-year-old.
He finished second in the top-scorers chart with 16 goals and two assists during the 2021/2022 season for Gombe United FC.
And commenting on the acquisition of Abdulazeez, Mjällby sporting director Hasse Larsson said:“Yusuf is a player we’ve had our eye on for a long time. He is an interesting striker with strengths, speed, and finishing.
“Yusuf has impressive numbers and statistics from Nigeria despite his young age. This is a player we hope can make a difference both in the short and long term.”

Ndi Nigerian homebased players do not move from Nigeria directly to European top league. Ngwa NPFL does not produce quality players. Yusuf Abdulazeez moved from NPFL club Gombe United to Sweden. Shame to bad people. Nigerians are our own worst enemies. We like to bring down our own.
20 years old man
Nigeria. NPFL hmmm
Oh!
I miss those days where our PLAYERS will MOVE from an NPFL CLUB straight into a BIG EUROPEAN CLUB i.e KANU NWANKWO from IWUANYANWU NATIONAL to AJAX.
But this days all they do is MOVE from one MEDIOCRE CLUB to another..
SMH!
True though. Moving to Sweden is manageable like I mentioned above but truth be told, this guy should have moved straight to Real Madrid, Manchester City or at worst, Manchester United.
See 20 years old boy. This is the reason the never go far in Europe. Watch the next club he will move to after this. Age will catch up. Though I don’t blame him because our system doesn’t give our youths the right platform to move against age in the game. I wish him all the best in Sweden, Sweden top flight is very OK for a starter in European terrain. At least his weekly wages will be 1000 times better.
