Abraham Targets More Goals For Chelsea After Netting Hat-Trick Against Wolves

Tammy Abraham is hoping 2019-20 will be his season, after netting a hat-trick in Chelsea 5-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molinueux on Saturday.

The Nigeria-born forward has had to be patient in his pursuit of senior recognition at Stamford Bridge.

Fierce competition for places has forced him out of west London on several loan moves, but Frank Lampard has opened the door for an exciting academy graduate as greater emphasis is placed on youth.

That faith has been richly rewarded, with Abraham’s treble at Molineux taking him to seven goals across his last three games.

“I hope this is my season,” Abraham told BBC Sport.

“I have to keep working hard in every training session, every game. Every game I want to prove myself to the gaffer.”

Chelsea took complete control of their Premier League meeting with Wolves inside the first-half.

Fikayo Tomori broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark, before Abraham added two more to the Blues’ tally before the interval.

He completed his hat-trick six minutes into the second half, with Lampard’s side able to take their foot off the gas slightly from that point.

“Today the plan, it worked well,” said Abraham.

“We were disappointed about the Sheffield United game and not coming away with all three points so we brought that disappointment into this game as motivation.

“We have trained really hard since coming back from internationals.”

The boy has chosen England. We have to face reality and move on to players who want to play for us. Abeg stop all this wishful thinking.

And certainly will regret it!!.. When I knew the boy doesn’t have sense was when he had the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the world cup and yet chose England!!!..any way we have better and more committed players to go with !

Strange, people are still talking about Tammy playing for Nigeria. We HV seen players like Richard Owubokiri scored more than 30 goals in a season, others like Jonathan Akpoborire, Peter Ijeh score loads of goals but failed to translate that into the national team. I honestly don’t see Tammy making any difference albeit he is a decent player at club level. Let’s just wish him the best in his England career. We definitely not gonna miss him. Rohr should try out Cyriel Dessers, Isaac success n Crotone Simone. These guys have the built of strikers to bring out the best of the already proven Osimene.

  • success and desser and that crotone player nawa 4u oo, anyway, mr pinnick abeg foget dat money miss road tammy jor.

work on ejaria our ronaldinho, and tommori, fast fast, cos no time.

and prepare a friendly match between that tammy, dele ali, england team and iwobi, aina, aribo, ejaria, nigeria team once more again, for the two set of players to know 9ja super eagle is not a toy to that 3lion team.

The way I see it, there is no point looking longingly at a woman if she is already another man’s wife. All this talk of Tammy, Tammy, Tammy is getting us absolutely nowhere. The young man has pledged his allegiance to England. Unless he reverses this decision, we can only admire him from a distance, and that is it. Fortunately for us, we have capable players in the center forward position who are also looking promising for now and the future.

Tammy’s road to the 3 Lions jersey is indeed long and arduous. With all the players ahead of him, he must maintain this form consistently. Chances are Southgate will invite him with the intention of capping him in the next international window, just to secure him for England. After that, the wilderness beckons……

Tammy will be capped in a few weeks and he’s not going to say no to it,so let us move on from Abraham and focus on those willing to play for the super eagles.

Word has it that Abraham has refused to rule out playing for Nigeria. For one, I prefer to see authentic Nigerian players with full commitment to play. No need to bench Osimhen in favor of Abraham. With this kind of foreign born players, one is never sure if they will ever appear for continental or even WC qualifiers. Kevin Prince Boateng of Ghana is a perfect example of players who wait for a team to qualify and go the WC finals to seek personal glory. These are once-every 4-year players. A bird in the hand is worth one hundred in the bush. Just a thought.
